I don't see any aftermarket companies keeping that active spoiler on them. Yet another cool feature lost to the aftermarket world. I'd be interested to see what gains it produces. I've seen these on other cars before and always wondered how much they help.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people complaining about fuel economy on this forum. It seems many live in cold regions and the spoiler doesn’t deploy if the temp is below 41 F (5 C). So it may seem that the spoiler may have a big effect on fuel economy especially highway.

According to this they report 5%. Sweers says it can change CD up to 20% especially when towing.

Did the aerodynamics engineers even consider the off-road need for front recovery points? I bet not. I've only used front tow hooks once, but it was a situation where there was absolutely zero access to the rear of the truck.

Why not have it down all the time if it improves mpg?

Could be a ground clearance issue. If your going over an obstacle that would require a lot of your available ground clearance you'd most likely be doing it at a very low speed.

I wish those aerodynamic engineers could figure out how to keep the bed from collecting dust with a tonneau cover on. It's freaking ridiculous how dusty my bed gets, even with an aftermarket tailgate gasket kit installed. It's been a pet peeve of mine since my first Tundra in 2008.

Step one buy high adhesive foam Insulating strip.
Step two add it to the bottom side of your cover so it blocks dust from getting in.

First vehicle I've been able to drive with all the windows down 60+ mph and it's very enjoyable!

They stated at the beginning about permanent air dams being damaged off roading and parking.

All cosmetic so far see my posts in 2nd gen Black out chrome in progress….
In general you buy a truck for it’s usefulness
If you want fuel economy you aren’t buying a truck…….
