    I love this forum.
I started with the rant. Next i read the page 1 responses. I wondered how there are 10 pages in this thread. Thought to myself, "Let's see how this all played out".....

I feel both, while completely taken out of context, offer tremendous insight into each author's respective perspective of life and how they view the world....
    Thanks again Tundras.com.

Good place to be stationed. Lots to do in San Antonio. I was hoping it wasn't Fort Hood - not my favorite base.

He said he can't complain, he has a family of 4 plus a wifey giving him plenty to do. I have 1 and couldn't imagine 3 more. He's looking to come back to Ohio once he gets out, misses the good company and family.

That's really cool - is he doing his 20 and retiring?

The Army dropped me off at Fort Hood and I never left Texas.

I wished he would, but I believe he will get out once his contract is up. If I wasn't tied to Ohio, I'd like to think Texas would be a good place to be. Really heard nothing but good things.

I lasted for 4 and that was enough for me. I wouldn't have traded those 4 years for anything though. I did a lot of growing.

Texas is pretty cool - there's a little bit of everything here (I live in an area in Central Texas that has tall pines kinda of like what I grew up in, in Northern Michigan) and the food is amazing. I missed the cold until last year when we had that arctic freeze. What I really miss are the lakes and all of the public land. It seems like everything is private down here. You should come down and check it out some time.
