Anyone in here have a truck on shipping hold at Jacksonville port? My dealer told me my truck is on shipping hold and has been for 3 weeks.

Yeah I think it might look really slick painted body color. Then put a 3M wrap on most of it to keep rock chips at bay.

I sure as hell wouldn’t pull a Uhaul car Dolly at 80 mph, but that’s just me. I also don’t slow roll into a mud pit.

I’m a flagrant speeder, and I wouldn’t tow anything much faster than 70 mph if that.

I would pay good money for his next vid to be him towing the Prius through a big mud pit.

Just watched the video and was curious what the 2 red hook looking things that were sticking out from the front bumper area are. I know the Tundra does not have those. I think they look stupid and out of place. Lame GMC

Those are the hooks that flat bed tow trucks use to winch broken down GM trucks onto the flat bed. Such a frequent occurrence that GM has helpfully painted them a bright color for tow truck operators to locate even in poor visibility conditions.

This is fantastic to hear. It’s nice to see manufacturers slapping their dealers around a bit. Ford did the same thing recently with dealers who were requesting repeated or excessively large deposits. I hope Toyota is paying attention.

Oh, I see. That is why Toyota excluded them. I believe I have seen similar "hooks" on Ford and also Fiat trucks before. I am pretty sure those really hurt the fuel economy. Kudos to Sweers

Ahhhh so Toyota puts them up around the roof so it’s easier to pull the cab off the frame .

Saw my first 2022 Tundra in the flesh so to speak. Dealership had a sr5 double cab in white. Here's the window sticker. Very nice looking truck. As optioned it was $53,656. Salesperson said make me an offer. I pointed to the sticker and said "that's my offer". He said they didn't sell it to someone who had offered $7k over and if I wanted the truck I had to make a better offer. I was like well at that price you can keep the truck and walked. I understand 'Rona has made things nutty but no way am I paying at least $10k over sticker. The other dealer in Long Island that has some inventory apparently starts the bidding at $10k over as well. Going to wait 6 months to a year and see how things shake out.

Totally agree, the pricing of vehicles has gone insane. But people are paying these prices so I don't see them coming down anytime soon.

We live in a instant gratification society. People want what they want, and want it now. I wouldn't want to be one of the people that paid over sticker when the values start to come back down. I used to refuse to pay msrp for a vehicle. I wouldn't pay anything over msrp if I were to buy anything right now. But right now I am just waiting out the market.

If they come back down, if i making cars and selling them at these insane prices with ease what's my incentive to bring the price down? The people you talk about in your response have messed up the market bad for everyone else.

They could be slow to come down but they could drop like a rock too. We'll see soon. The used market influences the new and vice-versa. It always comes back to supply and demand. Dealers will be huddled together with nowhere to sit or stand because when the factories catch up, they'll be pumping them out like mad and filling the lots. Then throw in some repossessions from the sea of upside-downness that was formed plus people sitting tight and not buying because the economy (which hasn't been healthy and started down back in 2018) will make them.
