Is the 10/100k extended warranty in addition to the 3/36k warranty?

Taking delivery near the middle to end of Feb of a Limited CrewMax (fingers crossed) and had a question about the extended warranty. The standard warranty is 3/36k but I have read that I have up to 35,999 to add an extended warranty.

The question is, if I were to add the 10/100k platinum at 35,999, does that mean I get the additional 10 years or 100,000 miles on top of the 3/36k meaning essentially I would have 13 years/100k whichever comes first or does it technically run concurrent to the 3/36k?

With how many people are working remote right now, this doesn't sound too unreasonable.

Personally, I hit 10K just about dead on my one year mark.

I took my truck off the dealer lot 7/2/21, and right now I am almost hitting 9K, granted, three trips back-to-back from Houston to Dallas and also to San Antonino also adds up the miles. And, I work from home half of those time, due to the pandemic.....
But man, loving every mile of those 9K miles.....

I have the 72 months/10K miles extended warranty, look at this pace, I might lose out on 10-20K miles, but it's fine, whatever breaks, breaks, regardless of time.

Exactly this - I work from home and have roughly 5k miles on my Tesla Model Y and that includes taking a trip to CA and back from AZ. For reference I picked it up end of June last year so 10k/yr sounds about right. Great insight from everyone though.

Isnt the factory warranty bumper to bumper 3/36 and drivetrain 6/60? Are turbos covered under the drivetrain? Seems like there is always a loophole.

Do you would be paying for 64K miles of B2B and 40K of drivetrain?

how much are these warranties? Thinking about one for mine?

this one is effy, but I guess it depends on how nice the dealership is.

On one hand, it's not a front facing camera so shouldn't be caused by flying debris, and I doubt you or anyone deliberately hit it and cracked it, so most likely it came from factory cracked. On the other hand, it would be nice to have documentation that's how you received the vehicle. For a 6 day old truck, the reasonable assumption is that it's a defective cracked lens from San Antonio

Now note to myself: video record EVERYTHING upon receiving my truck sometime this year

Yeah kinda is what it is. I waited at the dealership for 4 hours for my truck to go through PDI. I live 2 hours from it so all I wanted to do was get in and drive home. Gonna be hard to find everything.

Keep ya posted on what my dealer says.

hopefully it’s a cheap fix if I’ve got to pay for it.
