I'm in for one on the next batch too.

Where did you get these dual switches @pandapro?

I think I'm going to need this. I'm picking up my truck tomorrow, and I don't think there's enough room for switches on the dash.

@abomb60 and anyone else reading this, I am sorry if I didn't read deep enough into this thread to find an answer, and came up with butkis on a search.

Has anyone had any issues with push button switches sticking when you press them in with the recent changes in temperatures? I am thinking there's some expansion and contraction going on due to the temp swings, and the holes having a pretty tight tolerance. There was no trash in the gaps; I removed everything, air-canned the switches out thoroughly, and still sticking. Thoughts are appreciated.

Is it all of the switches? Did you paint it? ~ just wondering of paint thickness / tolerance if applicable

I have two push button switches, with the rear window switch in the center...yes sir, both are sticking. Good point about the paint...I used some satin black trim paint, but it was only one coat...I wonder if that one coat would make that much of a difference?

Hmm, one coat, probably not... not sure what's going on though, but it is plastic so nothing a little trim with a dremel around the switch slots couldn't handle - if that is the issue*

I’ve had some switches that were finicky about positioning in the plate. And if there was any torque from the wiring underneath, they’d occasionally catch like you mentioned. Have you tried re-seating them?

Yep Jake I did. I think I am going to Dremel the holes out a tad, but frankly I'm skeered because if they're not perfectly cut it'll eat my OCD up!!

Which switches are you using? My AirOnBoard ones are decent, but I've had an Amazon speshul that stuck a lot more.

Yep I got the Amazon cheapos that were like Voodoo Blue bright, then I found your previous post on the AirOnBoard switches that are Toyota switch light blue and I was like
You're onto something though...might be those chinese poor quality switches...

Yeah, I've heard good things about AOB switches, I've always used CH4X4 and always been great for me.

Don't Dremel, use a file and do it by hand. It probably won't take very much to keep it from doing that.

Good point. Dremel might work too fast and harder to keep everything straight

Check the build link in my signature.
No issues for me with my ABC camera switch or my other AOB switch. We’ve had some pretty cold temps too (but nothing like the Canadians or NorthEasterners get).

If you do go this route, try a bit of sandpaper first, it may just be barely rubbing, especially those chinese switches. I had some switches that flared out at the base and didn't like the dash slot, so I had to take a razor to the base and scrape it down so it didn't rub anymore.

I don't believe so. I guess you could do it but would probably be more work than it's worth.
