I'm close to pulling the trigger but I'm trying to save some cash too.. Dechroming my 2019 Limited

    1. TRD Pro grille, bulge, and stupid sensor cover come out to $1075
    2. Honeycomb grille, bulge, sensor cover come out to $979

My questions are about the stupid sensor covers. If I go with option 1, has anyone gotten a garnish off of ebay that worked?? I see some for like $16, but don't know if they match, or cause the TSS to do weird things

If I go with option 2, can I pry the sensor cover off, if I don't care about the old grille and breaking tabs?

    Not sure at this point.
Up to you whether you want to keep the original Honeycomb or get the TRD pro grille.

There are aftermarket versions from various sites if you search google.

As for the acrylic sensor cover, some have had issues with knock offs and some don’t. Since it’s a vital component to the truck… I spent the money on the real sensor cover by Toyota.

Hah, yeah. It really is. I have the honeycomb on chrome from when I purchased my SR5.

But the TRD pro grille knock offs are pretty on point too. Not sure which sites, but I know a few members can chime in on where they purchased it and their reviews.

You will find honeycomb grilles for sale without much trouble, there is probably one in the market place here now. Can also find them on CL and facebook. So you could save some $ over buying new and then spring for the toyota garnish.

There are threads about the swap and the TSS stuff, use search in upper right.

yea looks like I'm just gonna have to pay to play. I'll probably go with the TRD pro one since its only about $100 more. I was already a little worried about getting the relocation kit for insurance purposes if I got in a wreck, so looks like I need to start selling things LOL

I'm confused, how did you get to $1,075. I see it for $865 on Sparks:
Correct me if I am wrong, but the part numbers (MGM paint codes) are:
    • $336 - 53101-0C070-B0 - Grill
    • $217 - 76180-0C030-B1 - Hood Buldge
    • $309 - 53141-34010 - Plate in front of TSS Sensor
    • $2 - 90183-06044 (quantity 2) - clips for TSS Sensor plate
That sums up to $864. Is that list short another ~ $200 part?

Look into purchasing the parts via online from a local dealership vs walking to the Parts Department. Should be a lot cheaper as it seems, or try Sparks Parts like some are suggesting!

Oh dang, that's a big premium for the cement color. I didn't realize that.

Not to threadjack but any idea why their kit would come up as incompatible for my 2021 TRD OR Limited? I assume that's just a website error.

no joke thats why I'm trying to find some alternative haha.. I'm pretty sure yours will work, I think they just don't update their site that much. Use their chat feature and they will text you back to see if its compatible. I've had to do that a couple of times

They'll fit. The difference is between the first Gen Pro Grille and the second Gen Pro Grille. Though I know some retro-fit it.

Don’t forget codes like ‘Tundradude34’ to get 5% off your sparksparts order.

I went 3rd party aftermarket honeycomb insert for mine but I already had color matched bulge and surround. If I had to do the bulge and surround too, I would have just gone OEM like you’re about to do.

The cheaper land cruiser emblem isn't the OEM one and I don't think works if you have sensors on your Tundra. On the website it states the land cruiser emblem needs a slight modification to fit into the grill. The sensor cover is a direct replacement to OEM I believe if you have TSS.

If you're doing this mod on a truck without TSS is there a non-$300 option for to cover that hole in the grille?
