Hopefully it has full-time 4HI. And base trim has tri-zone climate control. That's the base SR5 trim for 2019. 2HI, 4HI with Torsen center diff, Center Diff Lock and 4LO. And the nice climate control system for the 2nd row.

We'll see if Toyota wants to make the next gen Sequoia a replacement for the Land Cruiser. I'd like to see it done. Full-time 4HI is a basic. Add Crawl Control and MTS and a new Sequoia is pretty much a Land Cruiser.

Lifter issues was resolved back in May I believe. Bad supplier batches and I believe build dates after april or may are good.

I'm excited for the sequoia. I think it's a great SUV but I couldn't pull the trigger on that dated platform.

Are you waiting for the refreshed interior or the new one with the older gen interior?

no, waiting on the new refresh and to see both in person and test drive. I thought it would be spring or summer for the new one last time I looked. I dont want a tundra before then anyway with all the horseshit going on

I would rather have a 6.2 V8 honestly, big factor for me, but we'll see how they both test out

AT4 is nice, and I'd def wait for the refresh. You could check out the ZR2 too when it comes out. It has the 6.2 in it.

the trucks I have driven with the 6.2 have run like raped apes.... but ya going to wait for the refresh for sure and then see one in person. also tundra platinum when they get on the lots which I would think by spring or summer there should be more around. If not, I can wait longer. I still may keep my 2016 platinum too, not really sure yet, need to test drive.

for now, GMC is 1 tundra is 2 from what I am seeing, but thats prelim..

Let's hope they don't use the same PR team as the Tundra to to release this Sequoia.

    I'm 100% interested. So I guess I'll

Maybe? Since they now have a CrewMax with 6.5ft bed?

I was thinking about that. If they offered the CM with the longer bed, maybe they'll do something similar with the sequoia. I can dream

It has the same rear side glass as the Lexus LX 600 so it’s gotta be the sequoia.

Strongest argument for a potential SequoiaMax. I’m almost hopeful…

Put me on the list of very interested to see new sequoia. I think that pic is for it, keyword being "big" and history suggests it will be out right after tundra. New tundra isn't enough to talk me out of my FGT but pretty sure the Sequoia will get us.

Seen a few mentions of Yukon/suburbans. We rented a 2021 Yukon XL Denali for a road trip couple months back where we needed the extra space. Piece of crap broke down and left us stranded south of Seattle in a sketchy area. Less than a year old, barely any miles, totally died. Almost missed my wife's grandpa's funeral because of it. I was impressed with the vehicle right up until that moment. Should have taken our 15 year old sequoia with 200k, more reliable!

I had a Yukon Denali for a week in TN. Quiet ride. But shit seats, cheap interior and cheap exterior. Nothings changed from my 2016 I had.

His render looks like Jeep Grand Cherokee though. (IMO)

Had a 21 suburban as a rental. 5.3 with MDS and the 10 speed. Got 24mpg loaded down on a road trip from AR to OH and back. Impressive for such a large barge. Comfy ride too. LT trim so not too fancy.

I was given a ‘20 Yukon XL Denali with the 6.2L for a rental for a week while I was out of town for work. Averaged 20mpg. It sure would scoot for its size. Regular 87 yielded a bit of a drop in performance and most likely a drop in longevity. They’re so freaking expensive, and they don’t (or didn’t before the current market) hold their value as well as other full size vehicles. Despite the fun, it rattled a lot, had a couple of electronic glitches, and just seemed that the shine was quickly wearing off of it.

I’m not considering another Yukon or Suburban to replace our 2012 at this point.

    I love my "outdated platform"

What specifically is a problem for you?

The main thing I'd like to have is the post '18 dash, If I get a newer model I'd love an 18+ TRD PRO. (although my '13 is minus rims, running boards & roof rack it's arguably a PRO)

I was amazed to see that the Sequoia never got the ‘14 updates to the grill and interior. Guess the volume is just too low to justify it. But you’re digging your own grave by neglecting the platform.
