My 2014 Tundra (~130,000 miles) has started being difficult to start on cold mornings. After sputtering for a few times it finally starts, once started and warmed up I don't have any issues throughout the day even if its sitting for a few hours.

Had new spark plugs installed and seemed to "maybe" help some but still have the issue. You can go to: https://rumble.com/vspxyq-tundra-starting.html to see a short video (27 seconds) of what it is doing.

I've been searching online and it looks like to "could" be the fuel pump but I'm not sure and any suggestions would be very helpful.

BTW: No Check Engine light has come on.

    Thanks in advance,
    Pete

    Not sure at this point.
    Possibly do a battery test since it's a 2014?

    and Welcome!

Thank you...I failed to mention that the battery has checked out fine.

Does that aftermarket intake have the stock MAF? That's my first thought looking at the video. If it is the original MAF, I'd take it out and clean it.

Yes it does have the original MAF...I have cleaned it...I was thinking along the same path. Maybe I should replace it...Thanks for the suggestion

Was this with a recent fill up that this started?

What you are describing is consistent with a fuel pump going out.

    Not a recent fill up.

Any suggestions as to how to diagnose the fuel pump failing without replacing it?

    Thanks for your reply.

In general, test fuel pressure after an overnight sit. I can't find any reference material on this for later model 5.7s with regards to a test port.

I think you have to disconnect one of the fuel lines and install a pressure tester. So the tester has to have the right fittings.

Besides this you can try feeling the tank or a fuel line for vibration. Turn key on to see if pump is even being activated for a system prime. If not there may be a signal loss from a possible fuel pump relay being faulty.

Did you ever find the cause of the issue?
