That's true actually lol. You can swap from bench to captain's chairs if you stay with tundra seats. There is no direct bolt on that I am aware of, maybe sequoia. A lot of guys here have swapped for seats from other makes but there is some modification involved. I've seen Escalade, subaru wrx and mini cooper seats used in here.

I know Corbeau makes cool looking seats and bracket adapters to fit the early Tundra but I have read horror stories about them. Recliners snapping while driving and leaving people looking at their ceilings.

1st gen Sequoia seats will bolt in, most of them were leather too.

I have a 06 SR5 access cab. Can I remove the bench seats and bolt in captains/bucket seats from any othe 1st gen model? What about the center console? Does it bolt in as well?

Should. I put buckets in my reg cab, as for the console access cabs should have the holes. Mine didn’t, but it did have the nuts underneath so I just drilled the holes and all the brackets are where they should be.

2005-2006 tundra access cab seats will bolt right up. I did just that in my 2002 tundra. You only need to plug in the seat belt wire. I really like it, just a better overall seat and it slides back further (I’m 6’4). Other make and model seats will need some fabricating.

I have an 06 with gray captains chairs, I miss the bench I had in my 02. I'd be open to a swap assuming the bench was in same condition.

the one issue you may run into is the 05 and newer trucks have seat position sensors and the belt buckles are different. it'll require some modification to get it all working right. I had to cut and weld new buckles onto my seats and jerry rig the seat position sensor so that the airbag light turned off

    Oh, that's good to know..

Being that I have an 06, If I found an 05-06 to do the swap with, it should be a straight swap id imagine?

Close enough. May need to swap wires over (my bench has different seat belt switch plugs than the 05 buckets)

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I finally just got a tundra. 2001 Access cab with the split front bench, and the drivers portion is really thrashed. Can anyone definitively say if the bottom cushion off a tundra/sequoia front captain chair would be a direct fit? appreciate it

This is a very serious problem that many of us have been trying to deal with. I have a 04 SR5 that had the original buckets overhauled by an upholstery ($1900.000 including replacing lower seat w/new OEM and they still were back/leg killers after 2 hours. I have 2 brand new Schell Mann seats and a set of Wedge industry brackets just sitting there while I find a solution for Passenger side Occupancy sensor. I have scoured the Planet looking for a Passenger seat occupancy emulator (plug in) so the air bag will work. Looked as far away as Poland (HDK) who makes high quality ones for most European cars (and I am sure they have much stricter regulations). Told these manufacturers that there is a good demand for these on the Tundra/Tacoma/Landcruiser/FJ forum. The Euro ones run around 45-95 dollars and are plug & Play. Hell, I would pay two hundred just to get it solved. I`ve even tried to find used Metaltech to no avail. May just have to change out Driver's seat which is terrible solution. The factory seats are just terrible (have heard that from late model owners). Do the new TRD models have a Recaro option? Also tried to price remanufactured trans as mine is slipping going into 3rd gear (scheduled for dealer diagnostic 1/24) went to Olathe Toyota parts and list was around $2850 with a good discount off that. Called three dealers and two were same list. The one nearest me was 3550 no explanation why!! Understand why their making list of Add on pricing on new trucks.

Thanks for your reply- sorry for my delay, i'm still not in the rythym of being on here daily- im used to being on ih8mud.
I will likely go with the local reupholstry route, see if I can't find new seat foam from toyota or find a junkyard passenger seat from a bucket seat, if that;ll work. this would give me the option of having the seats changed to heavy vinyl from cloth.

Yo, so I have a 2000 Tundra SR5 4WD 4.7 with gray driver&passenger front bench seats. They’re in excellent condition.
So my question is, does anyone have a gray driver&passenger front captain chairs that they would want to trade with me?? Obviously it would be really nice if your seats are in good condition as well. Please let me know even if they aren’t gray, because I can always put new seat covers on them.
    Thanks, Ryan

So has anyone been able to find out if Sequoia Seats are compatible with the tundra? I found a salvage yard near me with a set of leather buckets and a center console for $400 for all of it, but I'm hesitant to buy unless I know they'll fit.

I have an ‘02 with gray bench seat. I would be down to swap with you if you’re still interested. I’m located in Portland though, it looks like you’re in southern California somewhere? Lmk if you’re still interested, feel free to email me @ smudges_muggier_0p@icloud.com
