What are the pros and cons when comparing to the TRD?

That is where the drain plug is, give or take. Just a little visual

It definitely looks better than the stock plate.

I thought for the money the RCI skid was a better setup. It has more options and seems well engineered. The fellas at Toytec highly recommend them.
I am changing mine out just for oil change ease and that is what I’m going with.

Bought a TRD SKID also without the hardware. I was cheap... and had a little time. Basically 30-45 min at Home Depot. I pieced together everything, with the exception of the large square middle spacer. Luckily the guy included that. But 45 minutes and $8.00 later I had everything I needed.

My skid is bolted on tight, no missing bolts. Couldn’t tell it wasn’t the $90.00 oem bolt kit.

Yup, there is a small flexible shield on the front of the skid plate that is attached with rivets. Should be already attached, but the HW kit comes with ALL hardware.

Old thread, I know, but does anyone know if that large square aluminum block that goes in the middle of the skid plate is included in the hardware kit?

Supposed to be - that part is the “Jack spacer extrusion” I believe.
