LED Lights

Anyone try or use these lights? TIA

 

For headlights?

buy a quality headlight designed with built in LED’s. Drop in LED’s are a proven downgrade for output in pattern hotspots, cutoff lines, output scatter blinding other people and foreground light (appearing to have a brighter appearance to the driver)

halogen headlights were designed for halogens bulbs only.

Hey OP

it’s just some information and some input. Thousands of people do it, doesn’t make it right or wrong.

I’ve done drop ins years ago. Still run them in my fogs, I don’t run them on, on the streets with other drivers, back roads and late nights with nobody around.

Just some information to think about. Knowledge is why we come here, learn, and at the end of the day it’s your choice and nobody can stop you from doing what you want to your truck, but some consideration for other drivers as well

 

That's why I am here to see if anybody used these or has any remarks about them.

 

I went that route the first 2 times. They burn out quick and give minimal useable light gain. Spend a bit more and get upgraded housings. As far as fogs, you can’t beat the SS3 from diode dynamics imho. Keep your eyes on the classified sections here for the housings.

 

I used VLeds Micros for headlights with great success on my 2013. They were aimed properly and no glare to oncoming traffic. For fogs I used the DOT approved Rigids. I run 2 sets of them for fogs on my 2020.

I run LEDs in my fogs with no problems. The fogs are low and short range. I hate in when people put LED bulbs in halogen housings. Some housings seem to be worse then others when it comes to blinding people. Like others have said do it right and get housings designed for LEDs. I have retrofits and they are a nice upgrade from the stock lights. Well worth the $s.
