Slowly the suspension parts are coming together, got coil sleeves in, heim joint dust boots are shipped.

Not the truck, but wife's 4runner, finally was to get possibly the last color matching cooler to her car.

Trying to make the truck faster with cf interior bits.

    - Shift knob and door handle cover is from cartrimhome, I found them while reading trail4runner, the whole order was like $50 or so, took a month to arrive but the shift knob is actually pretty darn good, I'd skip door handle trim as it still show the silver part, so might re-apply with a plastidip to cover that up.
    - Steering wheel trim cover, came from Amazon, it was only $30 and I had very very low expectation, BUT, they are MUCH better than I expected, the fit is very good and it feels good.

The wait for the suspension is getting longer, rear shocks won't be ready until Novemeber/December.........

Going for a trail run this weekend, so quickly installed diff breather and SDHQ air pump relocation, everything was easy enough except those fender liner pin/holder, they are a pain to remove, considered I've already had the pump replaced once under warranty, don't want to try my luck for another replacement.

Yea, it failed once, dealer was surprised as well but one pump just seized completely.

No code on s&b , all my codes were related to the air pump and o2 sensors when running aftermarket cats.

    https://youtu.be/IQ8odt8on7M

This was before oem cats and x pipes were put on, it was louuuuuuud, like it would set off other cars alarm when starting loud.

Even in stock they sound surprisingly nice, it stuck to me during my first test drive on a stock Tundra with single outlet exhaust, I would love to do a RCSB aim for street use with full exhaust and skinnies up front.

I posted this in the LR thread, went on a trail ride with local club, it was lot of fun, with the gears and 4lo, she just crawls, I was worried the TRD sways would've limited the flex, but that seems not to be an issue as seen by this picture.

My driver's side running board however is very very dented with one mount simply ripped off.

@Downytide . I like your posts. I also have a Lunar Rock Tundra. Quick question for you regarding the tail lights. Approx 8 months ago when i bought the truck, i went out and got some aftermarket taillights (I believe they were OEM). When they arrived, i tried to install them but noticed that the mountings on the tail lights didn't match the truck's taillights. I'm curious to know what you have seen on your end? i like the HRS that you put on but i'm worried that if i go out and buy another set of tail lights, that i will run into the same problem. let me know when you have a moment. thanks

@pjazz123 , there's only one way to mount the tails, they slide in from the outside toward inside of the vehicle, HRS was 100% OEM fitment, took me literately 10mins to install, they are the closest OEM looking LED tails in my book.

The talon's garage skid plates was a hefty one at 1/4" thick.

Bought one for the 4runner and the transmission/transfer case for Tundra, 4runner was a breeze, took may be 25mins by myself.

Tundra plates definitely requires 2 people, or one person with a lift, the fit is very good, BUT, if you have long tube headers, the driver's side cats (if you keep them) is very close to one of the nut that holds the plate, I'm going have to keep an eye to make sure they don't rub.

Suspension stuff is here, Accutune has being awesome to deal with, I had almost 50 emails going back and forth on helping me to decide what to go with and the valving I'm looking for, the most difficult part was the wait, but they came in early!

Suspension installed, IPT VB installed, the suspension is truly beautiful, it rides beautifully on rough roads, pavement, everywhere, one unexpected thing was the truck is much quieter with new shocks, the front is raised by about 0.75" to match the rear. IPT VB makes the shifting much more snappy, bit like a dual clutch cars.

Bora 1.25" spacers were added to stop rubbing on the reservoirs at full lock.

    That's a great looking truck!

    2 questions:
    When does the supercharger arrive?
    Any plans to add lockers?

I already got the supercharger! Waiting for the fuel pump then gotta find time to install it.

I also added powertrax lsd when I did the gears, it actually has been more useful than a locker for me.

A big shout out to D3 Performance, Dinesh made this possible for software, it's pretty much done and from the test drive is beastly as that's all I can say for now.

Mechanically, the truck has been great, 0 to 100km/h without torque braking in the cold yields 6.09s, that also includes spinning 4 wheels going almost sideways, overall I'm super happy with how the supercharger completes the truck, 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

I upgraded the stereo with JBL amp upgrade and dual 10" JL 3W subs from James from tech12volts, I haven't changed the door speakers yet but it made a HUGE improvement on sound quality on stock door speakers, the subs also made my daily drives more enjoyable, I used Noico 80mm for some basic sound insulation.

If I hadn't just dropped a bunch of cash on the hybrid bumper, winch, light bar, and switches, I'd be looking at the radio upgrades.

@Downytide did you clearance the rear shock upper mount for the reservoir fittings? it's been mentioned here by a few members.

both side clear the mounts, I know the issue you are talking about, my plan is if it happens I'll machine a washer that sits into the mount to create some space between the fittings and towers

@a_double Took a pic of the mount, it seems it hasn't touched anything yet, I drive a lot of gravel at high speed, seems ok so far.

Hmm. I’ve been thinking about going the other way, lol. I’m on the TRD Fox suspension with CB +2s, Firestone bags, and Daystar cradles. I’ve been considering dumping the bags and cradles for RAS. I just can’t seem to find a good PSI for riding empty. Seems the cradles add a bit more lift, too. When I have significant weight in the back, it’s nice, but when it’s empty it’s pretty bouncy feeling. From everything I’ve read, the RAS is better at not limiting suspension travel than airbags. The cradles help with down travel, but your up travel will still be limited.

My newest idea is leave the shackles in, and add RAS plus Durobumps. They’re progressive bump stops. I really liked them on my old 4Runner.

How bad is the bounce and what psi did you leave it at?

I've had tried Timbren and holy crap it rides worse than an empty 4500/5500, it's just constant crashing into them, I had them for about 2hrs and took them off, the RAS has been decent at holding weight in the bed but not so much tongue weight, it also doesn't help that with new suspension which the front is sitting about 2" higher than stock and I haven't adjust the threads, so when towing it looks like carolina squat, I'm also really not keen on buying a HD truck just to tow.

It’s slightly worse at all psi. I think around 10psi is best. The addition of the cradle, which is critical if you off-road at all, gives the airbags less room between the frame and the axle.

I’m hoping that RAS plus shackles and progressive bump stops won’t squat too bad with a WD hitch for heavier bumper pulls. I really value the articulation of the stock springs, and I’m hoping to find a solution without needing new springs.

I tried to reach out Deaver/Alcon, getting someone to answer my email/phone call seems to be a hard thing to do now days.

I too like the stock springs for driving, right now it's peachy with the stock springs, RAS and the dsc, I can fly down the gravel road that I take daily at 60mph without an issue, I thought about with deaver or alcon I'll get the SDHQ traction bars too, but seems kinda costly at almost 3k just for that set up.

WD hitch should help, too bad my trailer won't take it.

Have you try it at 5psi as some have mentioned?

I have. Seems better closer to 10psi. Bouncier than stock no matter what I do.

Just FYI—running at <5psi risks damaging the air bags.

I'll play around with this and let you know, I got the bags kit for a song so I don't mind it if I damage them, if I like the bags then I'll sell the RAS to you lol.
