Looking to see if anyone knows the wire that’s to the brake lights.... I am trying to wire in a 3rd break light to my rack and don’t know which wire to use coming off the tail lamp.

tried to use a test light and nothing lights up.... googled and searched and found nothing on 3rd gens but lots on Tacoma’s. Only thing is the wires are different colors on the Tacoma’s.

    Any help would be appreciated

Ended up taping into the driver tail light. Shortly after posting found a post saying red was brake and green was running light (that makes sense with colors.... but ya never know).

So Red is the brake and the white/black is ground!! Then green I’m assuming is running light.

I did relentless fab bed bars with arb roof rack. Then added pods and a spare tire that blocked the 3rd. Found a pretty simple motorcycle tail light and wired it up as my “3rd”.

I just bought a used century truck cap . I will need to know this info also for my 2017 crewcab max short bed. I hope that i can tap into the driver side taillight. I also need to tap into the 7 way plug to get a constant power for my cargo light switch. Maybe i can tap the left brake and contant 12+ there while im at it?
