Adding TRD Pro hood on other trims?

Does anyone know if we can add those badges/vents onto say a sr5 hood or if pro hoods may be avaliable eventually?
Im trying to figure how to do it aftermarket if not. I really like the new pro hood with the vents or two badges on either side. Sort of where the duramax badges are on the hoods of chevys and such.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
    Try JC Whitney.

They will have all sorts of fake hood scoops and such to put on your truck to play pretend with.

Was considering starting a new thread around this topic. But saw your post. Personally I love the hood vent that come on the Pro.. even if they are fake. I just love the way it brings the truck together. Looks bad@$$

I'm curious if these are actually bolted to the hood or just a strong adhesive. Really hoping the aftermarket world comes out with a similar design that would read 'TRD Offroad' rather than 'Pro'

It looks like the only difference between the Pro hood, and standard hood is this vent. All the body lines look the same, so i would bet if you could somehow order these vents independently, they would fit a standard hood. My only issue is the 'Pro' verbiage. Im all for the vent.. but having it say 'Pro' when you're not a Pro is maybe borderline tacky/frowned upon, but to each their own.

Here's to hoping the aftermarket world comes out with knockoff vents for the standard hood because i personally would run them on my Sr5 offroad. When TRD Pros start to hit the market I'm sure we'll find out more. Hoping this lights some fire on this thread. Would really like to hear what others think about these vents.

Best part of having your own vehicle is being able to do whatever tf you feel fit. I could care less if I don’t have a TRD Pro those faux vents look badass so why not get my own

I do agree that the faux vents add a bit of flair and break up the lines of the acre-sized hood. I wouldn't mind ordering an aftermarket solution with different wording on it. I just don't want someone to think I'm trying to pass my truck off as a TRD Pro. I know some folks don't care about that. I do. :)

If someone in the aftermarket made a set that said "TRD Off Road", "TRD", "SR5", "Off Road", or anything along those lines...I'm 100% game.

Give it a year or two and I'm sure there will be something.

They are all over Ebay now too and look like they just attach with 3M double stick foam. I'd for sure get some but they aren't too noticable with the black paint so not a big impact for me.

You had me go down a rabbit hole when I searched eBay. I thought there might already be some aftermarket knockoffs coming from overseas.

I did manage to find this gem if anyone is still looking for the TRD Pro light bar & marker lights. This person is selling both as a kit for $199. Not too terrible of a price given what I've seen some others pay for just the light bar.

Edit: There are several sellers with this same "kit" selling at prices ranging from $180 to $200 that I see.

I believe the factory ones use pins through locator holes in the hood and are secured with adhesive. I'm sure the pins could be removed if you're not adding them to a hybrid hood.

Yea, so I found my set via Toyota dealership, but also found via third party and they do mention install will require drilling, each piece does have 3 pins to secure them to the hood along with being lined with 3m around the vent. I’m just gonna run to a local body shop and have em do the deed cleanly for me.

As for the TRD Pro Grill lights and LED bar, diode dynamics actually created a light bar kit complete with mounting brackets and harness that runs about $380 currently on sale on vivid racing for $360 shipped. Much better lighting than even the oem light bar. For the raptor lights I’ll just try and source those separately later on.

Just bought some cheap "off-road" emblems on ebay, removed the "pro" wording - comes off easy with a flathead, used black silicone caulk to fill in the pro indent left behind, epoxy on the ebay "off-road".
Played around with red/black. Ended up going black for more subtlety.

If anyone is interested in how they attach to the hood, not the TRD Pro ones but the I-Force Max one, but same principle.

I've been totally torn on this.
I love the way those hood 'vents' look, and I think they add an interesting styling piece. But I'm also a pretty staunch advocate of NOT adding random bits and pieces to vehicles. And adding badging to a car that ISN'T that car is even more egregious.
That being said, I'm 100% on board with these trim pieces if I can figure out a good replacement badge ie: iForce 3.5 (err 3.4?), Just 'TRD' or whatever else...

I don't unfortunately, this was a picture taken by the shop that did my PPF, they removed the emblem... The PPF job was a huge disappointing job by them, but not going there! :frusty:
