I am thinking about replacing the almost new TRD Dual Exhaust that came on my 2021 tundra with the stock single exhaust.

Any tips on where I might find a low mileage stock setup without having to go through the dealership? I did look through the classifieds and did not see any, but with all the folks switching the other way there must be some sitting in garages?

If the dealer route is needed, is there a single part number for the single or will I have to specify multiple part numbers?

    Thx, Dave

You should be able to find someone with take-off stock single exhaust “for sale” on here (they don’t seem to move well) or someone who will do some sort of a trade + cash deal for your TRD dual.

Posting your general location would be helpful for either idea. And welcome aboard Dave.

    Welcome to the forum.

You'll need a stock muffler and a stock single tailpipe.
    2020 same parts for 2021.

    Tailpipe

You'll also need a new muffler tailpipe gasket.

    Amazon.com: Fel-Pro 60461 Exhaust Flange Gasket : Automotive

What is it you don't like about your TRD?
    Is it too loud?
Do you just not like the look of the duals?

Before buying the stock stuff, I'd recommend you call Keith at @dirtydeeds
He makes Tundra exhaust systems that replace stock or TRD systems.
If what you have is too loud (or you have towing concerns), he can make you a quieter (AKA longer) one.

A lot of us run his exhaust systems, me included..
They aren't cheap but they are awesome..

You already have the dual tailpipes.
    Check it out..

Where are you located? I would do a trade plus cash! I have a 2021 crewmax with black OEM exhaust tip. 400 miles on my truck

Wow……that’s a great deal for somebody. OP will easily find someone nearby or someone willing to take the drive and make it happen.

I woulda jumped on this if it was in my area. I bought my new truck and drove it home with the dual exhaust that I also purchased at the same time. Paid just over 1K and I’ve been trying to sell the stock exhaust since on local Craigslist. Shipping would Never be worth the expense.

So OP you have a couple guys already in line waiting for your response.

My suggestion; have whomever you choose to do the swap with bring the necessary tools, ratchet/sockets/torque wrench and I’ll bet that in about an hour and half the swap will be complete!

    Too many, but not enough....
I am in SoCal as well and I have a near new 2021 stock single tip muffler section that I replaced with a dirty deeds exhaust. No gasket though. Its yours if you come and get it. It is taking up space and i cant bring myself to just scrap it.

I got my stock muffler section sitting at home. Came off a 2020 with around 7000 miles on it. I'm located Monterey County.

Thanks all for the advice, offers, and welcome.

As to why the move back to single? Without a doubt the truck sounds and looks great with the TRD dual exhaust, my boys grin every time I fire it up (and getting teen age boys to smile is getting ever harder these days). But as I've gotten older, I've come to value peace and quiet, and simplicity, perhaps because it is so hard to find living in SoCal. The small increase in HP at high rpm vs low end torque tradeoff doesn't do much for me either.

My plan is to find (hopefully close by) and install a low mileage single stock exhaust, drive it for a week or two to make sure it was the right move, then sell the TRD dual. Assuming I do, I will try to circle back with those that expressed an interest above in the dual before posting in the classifieds.

Thanks again, what a great community.

    Thanks for the mentions everyone.

we can keep that smile on your boys, while still providing the quiet you’re looking for. Plus, we will retain low end torque that duals loses.

you will still need a stock tailpipe for the above plan to work. Give a call for details.

Thanks MadMax for the generous offer, but I met up with mgnchakar today here in Long Beach and picked up his system. Hoping to find time to install tomorrow.

How did the swap go? Are you happy with the single exhaust?
