i used Duplicolor, but they have since changed their formula, and it’s not as black. It also doesn’t texture the same.
I now use Krylon for everything.

I just went through the floorboard with a rubber grommet, and followed the frame to the back.

Sorry for my riddles, I did see those photos of the receptacles installed, any chance for photos of the inverter install and maybe if possible how you ran the cables to each outlet. Again sorry for my lack of specifics.

The inverter is under the drivers seat, so I can’t get photos without removing the seat and it’s just too cold right now. Lol.
Both receptacles have your standard 3 prong plug and just plug into the inverter. I ran the console outlet cable out the drivers side of the console and plugged it in. There was really no tricky routing. The one in the bed required an 8ft extension cord. I ran it along the frame underneath, and up through the floor under the drivers seat to the inverter. I used waterproof tape where the outlet plugs into the extension cord.

I hope I’m giving you the info you want. I have severe autism and sometimes have difficulty understanding people.

Would you mind sharing what you ended up building or using for a cover? I'm putting together a plan for this install and want to be sure the socket in the bed has a cover over it.

What did you use to cut into the bed? How big a hole was required for those sockets?

I used an angle grinder, if I remember correctly. I don’t recall the hole dimensions.

Any concerns with the inverter getting too hot under the seat? Also where did you run the 8ga positive to the battery? Along the door and through the firewall or in the floor and along the frame to the battery.

I might just put the inverter under my hood and run a cord along the frame to the bed.

No problems with heat. I went through the firewall to the battery.

I'd feel better having it in the cab (or under a cap/tonneau in the bed) and away from dust and moisture.

@AlmightyCrash Just wanna say that I appreciate your write up on this! I will be doing almost the same exact setup on my tundra in the coming weeks and having this write up to reference is fantastic. Thanks for all your detailed information! Helping out the community even years later!

My '04 Taco had 120V in the bed. It was cool as hell, and I loved having it, but I think I only used it once in 350,000 miles.

Still, I wish my Tundra had it. LOL
