Is the full circumference of the steering wheel heated? Because Toyota and Lexus has historically only ever heated the 9 and 3 area.

Agreed. I'm not denying that there could be an issue with some of these new trucks but I also recognize that not every driver utilizes the exact same hand position when driving. They may be comparing to other vehicles based on where they place their hands on the steering wheel when driving. Or their other vehicles may just offer more heat. I wouldn't be surprised of Toyota elected to concentrate the majority of the heat in the 10 and 2 position and keep the heat at a reasonable level for extended use instead of high from the start.

hard to say without feeling someone else’s wheel but what I have heard as well is some wheels only heat at all in 10 and 2. Mine certainly is all around the outside but I wonder if some wheels just aren’t working or they put two different wheels in depending on package or something. I have a feeling there will be a handful of TSB’s in coming months.

Mine has to be defective. It doesn't come close to the heated steering wheels on my 2018 Ford Expedition.

Toyota and Lexus only heat at 10 and 2. I’ve owned several and it’s pet peeve.

Respectfully, I disagree. The 2022 Toyota Tundra I test drove had a steering wheel that was heated around the entire circumference.

Hope you’re right. I’ve owned 10 Toyota or Lexus over the years and haven’t had one heat all the way. Huge frustration with our current LX570. I take delivery of my platinum in a couple weeks. It would be a pleasant surprise.

Same here. My 2022 Tundra TRD sport is heated the entire circumference.

My 2022 steering wheel never gets hot like the ones I’ve felt in Ford, GM, or Chrysler vehicles I’ve driven. They get real hot. The toyota feels just warm. Not hot. But the heated seats get really hot, I have to turn it down.

Mine (22 SR5 OR) is heated the entire circumference but what I have found is that some areas are definitely hotter than others…10 and 2 for example.

Im just happy to have it heated though so not really complaining…I have borderline Reynauds (hands and feet get cold really fast) and it’s my first heated steering wheel and I don’t plan on ever going back.

Mine is 360. Some areas gotter than others and the heat tends to move around. Like the top might get a bit warmer than the sides at one point and then 10 minutes later the sides might be a bit warmer than the top. It works well enough, though, but it's not as hot as other vehicles I've had.

My wife's 2022 Highlander heats at 9 and 3 and it is the about the same temperature as the Tundra.

Good to know. Guess Ford raised my expectations when it comes to heated steering wheels. The seats do get nice and hot. Might be worth me at least getting it checked out since this gets luke warm at best.

IMHO I feel that Toyota was being cautious and designed the heated steering wheel so that the temperature would be bearable regardless of the length of the drive. IOW one could leave it on all the time and not have to worry about it getting too hot and having to deselect it.
But, what the heck do I know?

In addition, I feel that it depends on one's perspective. I live in Canada and have never owned a vehicle equipped with a heated steering wheel. I drive both of our vehicle with bare hands year round. The temperatures this winter have been as low as -25C. Still, no gloves.
It was around 0C when I test drove a 2022 Tundra and I had the heated steering wheel on the entire time. I made a point of slowly and methodically touching the entirety of the steering wheel throughout the test drive. It was heated all the way around every time I touched it. It was only cold where the stitching is.
That said, I imagine if you're used to a vehicle with a heated steering wheel, that you may not feel it is as warm as your current vehicle.

    YMMV

I think it’s perfect. It’s warm but not uncomfortable. I also can’t use the heated seats above the first setting or they are to hot for me. Personal preference I think.
