Radio Question

I recently purchased my father's 2012 Tundra Platinum. I'm going through personalizing everything to my likes and one thing was downloading my contact list from my iPhone. My contacts display on the radio but when I receive a phone call it only displays the number, not the name. Very frustrating. Is this normal or is there a setting that I have wrong? Thanks.

In your iPhones bluetooth setting next to where it will show the trucks ID as connected may be a little blue lower case (i) - click on that and slide on "Show Notifications" if you haven't already.
If you already have that turned on let me know.

 

Thanks Krezz. I checked my phone. The connection is listed as CAR MULITMEDIA. I clicked the blue i but there is not an option listed Show Notifications. Sync Contacts is on. There are check marks next to Phone Favorites, Phone Recents and All Contacts. I can successfully transfer my contacts and read them on my truck radio, just none of the names show up when I receive a call. All I see is the number, and I usually have no idea who is calling.

 

The older software of the 2012 I'm not as familiar with sorry.
It may hopefully just require a flash update from the dealership.

 

I have an update. Took it to the dealer and there is not an update. 2 of the service guys paired their phones and both displayed the name when receiving a call. I asked them what phones they were using and both had Samsung Galaxies. Not sure why my iPhone is not working.

 

I have a Samsung Galaxy and it only shows the number too????

 

Update! Just noticed that my iPhone adds a +1 in front of the 10-digit phone number when someone calls me but the number stored in my radio doesn't have the +1 so it doesn't think the numbers match, so no name is displayed. Can't figure out how to remove the +1 from my iPhone, it doesn't show up in my contacts. If I manually enter the +1 to my contacts in my radio then the name will display when I receive a call. Any suggestions?

 

Try this. On your iPhone go to Settings>Phone and turn off Dial Assist.
