Guys, Took delivery of my 22 SR5 DBL cab. Driving home from the dealer I instantly noticed wind noise coming from the upper left corner of the inner black window seal to weather stripping. When I pressed in on it the sound went away. Build date is roughly 11/19. Hope I didn’t get an on the job training build.

Anyone else having issues with wind noise or poorly installed weather stripping?

Take it back to the dealer and let us know how it goes.

Is it annoying? I had a Honda Pilot that served me well for many years.

It had a lot of wind noise that came only from the driver window. It was loud but not irritating.

i mean I feel like I got used to it already it’s not very Loud. You can hear it when you get in the highway with no music. Not enough to irritate me. I think it’s more like this is a brand new truck and this should not be an issue.

My 17's front passenger window screams at me at highway speeds, as did my 14 Taco, disappointed that Toyota has not really addressed this issue. That being said, I have found that lowering the window ever so slightly will stop the whistling. Don't roll it down, just lessen the pressure on the seal and see if that helps you.

Is your hvac on fresh air or recirc? My Tundra rear window whistles at >70 if the recirc is turned on.

I can hear it on both sides when the radio is off. I'll try these suggestions in search for a cure.

howdy. I have not booked an appointment yet. I’m kinda waiting to “make a list” first before I go back in. I’ve noticed a few other things that seem to be minor.

also want to give it a little time to see if it gets picked up as a “known issue” with a published TSB. For now I may mask off that corner with some black electric tape to seal it.

truck will be outta service next week for a a multi stage paint correction and PPF application. Somewhere between factory paint shop, transit carrier and dealer “reconditioning” shop the vehicle picked up a ton of buffer trails aka swirl marks.

Sorry to interrupt but would you mind sharing the payload from the door jam sticker?

Had this on mine that I got on 12/10. Took it today to the dealer. They are ordering a new rubber seal. We will see if that fixes the noise.

The swirl marks eh? I'd be livid. I requested my truck not be washed before I took delivery. The sales drone gave me a blank stare when I made the request. The Porsche driving manager understood completely.

It’s a tough pill to swallow. Asked the salesman and dealership and they assured me that the vehicle was not waxed or buffed by them. Hard to pin down origin. Would think Toyota corporate wouldn’t want new vehicles delivered with clearly obvious paint issues.

2:48 on the video talks about/shows a weather stripping issue as was discussed recently (though the owner isn’t sure if the tint folks did it)

My limited does this as well. Adding it to a short list of things to have looked at.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Thanks for the reports guys. Make sure Toyota finds out. You don’t need to live with defects, and the rest of us who are waiting want a sorted out truck.
