I like those stock wheel but damn they need to be 18s, there is no sidewall on that

Yeah. That's one clear advantage of the TRD OR package on the SR5 vs the Limited. I guess they figured the owners of the cheaper (like me) would be more inclined to off-road it. I'm not sure why they went 20's on the Limited and 18's on the SR5.

what do the black wheels that are 18s on the SR5 look like? If I get a platinum, Im going to need to ditch the 20's on that too and its easier for them if you just get another toyota wheel.

These are the 18" black wheels that come with the SR5 TRD Off-Road. Here's a pic of mine. They're mostly black with a "simulated" bead lock ring for looks.

I have thought about seeing what the 17" All-Black TRD rims from my 4Runner look like on the truck...assuming it's the same bolt pattern. I'm just too lazy right now to jack both vehicles up and swap a rim to see how it looks.

Off-Topic, but would you post more pics of your truck of different angles? The lack of chrome accents and the color matched bumpers make me like this truck more.

I think that would look fantastic. I have always wanted to see them on a new(er) Tundra. Def some of the best looking Toyota wheels out there IMO.

I know the hip thing is to hate on all black wheels, but I think these wheels in particular would have looked much better without the alloy/chrome ring. Still not bad at all though!

I don’t get it. I plan on purchasing the trd pro wheels down the line at some point.

Same. I think the limited OR tires look great without that sr5 bare metal. but would look better if they were 18 inch.

I thought the same thing when I saw them in the Toyota marketing material, but they've grown on me. Since the SR5 TRD OR has the chrome "hulkstache" up front, they kinda tie the whole look together without having too much chrome overall on the truck. They've definitely grown on me since I took delivery of the truck.

But I also knew that I would swap out rims & tires one day too after I lift the truck. So...take that into consideration too.

Sorry for a noob question: can we fit 35size tire on this trd rim? Or need to purchase different wider rims and offsets?

Supposedly people are already doing that. See the video below and skip to about 2 mins. There is a guy who slapped on 35's on these stock rims with no lift or leveling kit. He claims there's no rubbing.

C'mon man. Take one for the team.
Many folks are wondering if those 17" wheels will clear the brake calipers.
This is your opportunity to be our hero.

You don’t need wider wheels to fit taller tires. At some point you will need a wider wheel to fit really ugly wide tires.

For whatever it’s worth, Methods fitment tool is saying 17” wheels fit in the new bolt pattern on a 22. A lot of them also come in +35 which should make for a clean look.

I remember reading in another thread that 17s wont fit according to Sweers but maybe the factory 17's would who knows. Anyone know what the offset is from factory on the new 2022's?

If you are talking about the black TRD wheel from the 4Runner, You CAN fit 35's but the wheels are only 7" wide and most 35's are 12.5" or 315's. If you go by what the tire manufacturers say, the minimum wheel width should be 8.5" for a 35x12.5 or a 315/70.

I am running 315/70R17's on my F150 with a 17x9" wheel and there is still a considerable amount of sidewall bulge beyond the wheel.

Thank you for clarifying that! So we need at least 8.5” to fit 35s. Got it!

kenda does make their Klever RT in a 35x10.5R17 which would probably be fine on the 7” wheel.

but even something like a 285/70R17 is supposed to be on a 7.5” wheel minimum. Thats why I went with 4Runner TRD Offroad wheels on my Lexus. They are 17x7.5”

You can definitely mount a 12.50 tire on a 7.5 rim - I have 33x12.50s on my stock tacoma 17s. The problem is, no matter how low you air them down, they're pooched out in the center of the tread. By quite a lot. They're shaped like a saucer. It takes a bit of driving to wear them down in the center so the tire is flat all the way across. Until then it feels like the truck is floating.

Long story short, just cause you can, don't mean ya should. Definitely caused uneven and premature wear on a really nice set of tires in my experience.
