recently I have seen a few tinting threads ...
one of my co-workers said the tint on his car was peeling or coming off. he bought the car used and doesn't know who did the work or what is on it as far as 3m, etc.

I was considering doing the windshield or at least a tint bar up on top across behind where the rear view mirror is. My Tacoma has it but not the Tundra.

just curious if anyone have had any issues after a few years like the tint peeling or any bubbles developing?

I had my 2005 Tundra for 12 years tinted all around with no fading, bubbling or peeling. They used 3m tint on my Tundra.

On my 2017 Tundra I pick Llumar ceramic tint all around. 70% windshield, 30% front and 5% rear.

My 2001 Trans Am had tint on it for 15 years when it was sold and never had an issue; my 2004 GTO has been tinted for 13 years with 3M and only issue was rear window bubbled due to use of window deicer, however it had a lifetime warranty and was recently replaced free. No other issues. My experience is that you get what you pay for, so have it installed with a quality product and from a reputable that has been in business a while.

Tundra windshield has wiper deicer unlike Ford and Chevy :D hopefully it won't bubble there!

that's what I want to do. only windshield plus strip and maybe the front driver and passenger sides if not too expensive. don't want to sped the $ and see bubbles.

I paid $200 for the fronts and the brow. I've done the brow myself on previous cars but our tundras have the black section right above the mirror. Never tried tinting over that stuff and didn't want to mess it up so I just had the pros do it this time.

Not a brow fan from a looks perspective.

55% front with 5% on all remaining windows.

    See fine print
OP - Use good tint and good installer and you will be fine.

I like the brow Joon! I may copy you. How many inches from the top is yours and how many % did you go with?

I went with limo tint. Not sure if that's the darkest possible but I wish it was a little darker. The sun still gets through it a little. I went down to the mirror which is lower than legal limit of 4" I believe.

I'm considering a brow. My commute in Tucson puts the morning and evening sun right in my eyeballs. Plus, the sun seems to be 3 inches from us. Agreed, Joon has it looking good!

Yes, it is legal in Texas as long as the tint film it is "clear". And yes, clear 'rejects ' some of the heat.

Yes, tint film is legal on the entire windshield in Texas as long as it is 'clear'.

Clear UV film is legal in most places because it's not considered tint

Mine has 12% tint, so the tint shop considers it 'tint' but it falls in line with the state definition of 'clear'. Call it what you want, but it is cooler than factory and heat rejection is what I was after. Also put it on my sunroof and all rear windows since I did not want them much darker.
