Thanks!!! Was hoping to get some 295/60 r20’s and 1.5” shackles on it this winter but the transmission replacement kind of sucked up any and all funds.
I’ve never really cared for red vehicles but Salsa grew on me.

Took the Rhino Rack Pioneer platform I was selling, narrowed it down by 14.5" and mounted the slats closer together. Used some 1 1/2x 1/8 aluminum angle to make side rails, just need to get a couple pieces of aluminum rectangle tubing to get the mounts how I want them.
This will give me a place to put some stuff that I don't want to get wet and give me more usable space. Left the front open so I could put my second water barrel up there when I move sites. Left a gap at the back for the nozzles of my gas cans.
    I'm happy with it.

Getting cold in Colorado- truck was making a racket at idle. Added sea foam to oil case and drove 500 miles. Noise was decreasing. Changed oil and put 0-20syn and no noise at all from chains or tensioner.
While I was there I added fumoto and RCI skid to make oil changes more better.
Had ball joint go out on UCA. Collapsed the wheel into the truck. Wife called “uh I think your truck is broke” Luckily a buddy had brand new 2021 take offs. I’ll do spcs later when shocks are due for refresh in a year or so.
Also was having a clunk in front end in dips so I figured TRD sway and bushing would help. Between new UCA and sway it is nice and quiet.
Wet Okole with heated pads too. Busy month.

No pictures currently buuuuuuut long list of things:

pulled transmission, replaced torque converter myself with the help of a buddy

took my custom bedrack and RTT off and am completely redoing them from the ground up, gonna be going with an overlander pre-runner style bedrack (yeah I know sounds weird but should turn out pretty cool)

awhile ago did a 3" lift and 35s

drained transmission pan and replaced the gasket, refilled and checked level

I broke my passenger side front shock this past weekend out in Anza Borrego (Pumpkin Patch trail), so that required me to accelerate the purchase of some new suspension parts. Just got the Eibach Pro Truck Coilover Stage 2 package installed. Getting it aligned today.

Very grateful for AAA Plus that towed me at no extra charge from Octotillo Wells back to San Diego.

Put on a Magnaflow 12288 muffler, dumped before the axle. Nice sound at idle and cruise, nice and throaty when I get on it. A little bit of drone at about 1900-1950 when under load. Drone is only in that short range and is easy to get rid of by getting out of that range, plus it isn't unbearable when it's there.
Truck did throw me a head scratcher when I went to start the truck to pull on the rack. Started, then died after about two seconds, then would only stay running for about a second. I popped the hood and checked that the cables were good, which they were, then it started and ran just fine. This was after driving about 30 miles into town. No codes, active or pending.

Installed the Adarac M Series bed rack. Works with my roll up tonneau and is super clean and simple. 250 lbs capacity per crossbar. You can add more and different height bars to the same rails as well as cleats and tie-downs. So far so good!!!

Did my first oil change since buying the truck.
I replaced the plastic filter cap with an aluminum one. I can see why folks get the special cap wrenches to R&R these...the plastics drain plug was so toght the whole filter cap came off whn I put the wrench on it.
I managed to get the new one on tight by hand. The retaining clip wasn't in play on the original cap, and it's that way now.
The pan drain plug felt as if it was cross threaded, but came out ok. No gasket on the plug.
Next go around I'll add a quick drain on the pan. All in all, it wasn't to bad thanks to all the advice i've read on the forum.

If it happens to me next time, I will more than likely just change it that way ftom here on out.
It was no differant than a spin on type filter.
NOW, if I had an aftermarket skid plate with an access, I can see that making a mess that would be a pian to clean up.

if its still doing the same thing, check your intake, make sure everything is snug and they're aren't any leaks, when my cone filter slid off, my truck wouldn't run at idle because the computer was freaking out that it was getting too much air

it actually wasn't that bad, took all day, did not separate the transfer case, just pulled both out

took off exhaust from headers back to muffler, unbolted both driveshafts (front one won't come out until transmission crossmember is dropped) took out trans cross member, lowered the trans, unbolted the torque converter, unbolted bell housing bolts, and dropped trans down; all in all it wasn't that difficult, just a long process

I got these for Christmas and put them in today. Took about 30 minutes total to install both. They work great and I can even close my bed cover with them in place.

So I have an 08 SR5 and am looking at side mirrors, oem ones from a higher trim truck.
What I can’t seem to find out is of oem puddle lights will be plug and play and or if the auto fold will also be pre-wired. Anyone know more about side mirror upgrades?
Also apparently different levels of sr5 have more options. Mine is an 08 but isn’t wired for the headlight sensor on the dash, but has a lot of other odd ball features…
