7500ish lbs, 800 miles round trip, and the truck did phenomenal. With a big trans cooler and a weight distributing hitch, the tundra handled it very nicely. I even managed to average 11 mpg which pleasantly surprised me. Overall I’m very happy with my decision to use a tundra as my tow rig.

Honestly don’t tow a thing with mine; however, I do have a tow hitch on the truck for those folks who are inclined to tap my rear bumper.

Big brother giving his little brother a lift.

Hoping to pick up my (new to me) 2016 Tundra XSP-X Package 4x4 from CarMax, either tomorrow or Thursday. Will be used to tow a 2020 Jayco JayFlight 175RD camper and a 2022 Barletta Corsa 23U Tri-Toon boat (if the boat even gets built in time for use in 2022 LOL).

Just picked this up today, 3 hr drive to south FL, tank avg 18 mpg on the way down (filled up right before I left), tank avg when I got back was 15mpg, so does that mean I got 12 on the way home :,- I forgot to look at the trip summary when I got home :-(

    Trailer weight 1260 pounds.

If it was the same distance pulling as not pulling, then yes, I'd say you got near 12 on the way back. It doesn't work out perfectly, but it's close.

That's our problem trying to figure out mileage. We've never run a whole tank out towing or not towing. We'll pull the RV to a campground, then run around a few days in the truck, then pull it back home.

Brought home my next vehicle part out project today, an 05 crew cab Dakota, V8 4wd...guessing it's weight at around 4500lbs on my 3500lb trailer so we're getting close to as much as I'd want to tow with a half ton but the Tundra handled it fine. It definitely wasn't gonna do much more than the speed limit up some of the longer hills. The Falcon tow/haul shocks definitely seemed to help keep the rear under control over the bumps...it was the heaviest load I've pulled with this truck by a decent margin and it did great all in all!

Guy we used to shoot with would top his charges off with some moth flakes (naphthalene) for a little extra flash. Nothing let’s you know you’re alive like being next to a big gun when it goes bang.

We all get to survive terrible decisions sometimes. I might get a mid 50’s farmall super a tractor. Tractordatadotcom says it weighs 2400 lbs. ive got a tandem axle trailer. What do you load estimaters consider the weight distribution for tractors? Yea, gonna keep it low and slow and take backroads, but would i pull it onto the trailer forwards or backwards. Havent towed with my tundra yet, but hauled my nova, some mitsubishi raiders, and an s10 blazer with the sequoia. So, i dont know how the leafs are gonna hold tongue weight.

Like this (with drivetrain offset to the left, and driver offset to the right)

16ft? Those 20 ft corrugated sheets ran under the toolbox.

Just center it on the trailer axles, chain or strap it down really well and roll with it. Your Gen 1 Tundra should do just fine. Tongue weight can be adjusted on that trailer by simply moving the tractor fore and aft.
Please follow up and let us know how it did.

Yea, just wondered if most of the weight is on the front or back of a tractor like that. Seems like more iron at the back. But…i have no clue. I might even get some weights for it, and a box blade painted to match. Also, hasnt been run for over 10 years. Depending on whats there might make 2 trips.

tractorsinfo.net/farmall may provide the axle weights on the tractor. You'll need to know the year and model to really get info for that particular tractor.

More weight on front, but I can't give you any hard numbers. RVers (who, like us, know everything about everything ;) ) sometimes say 10% to 15% of the total weight for tongue weight.

With too much weight on back you get a tail-wagger.

There are several Youtube videos on the subject. Here's but one.

All the more reason to back a porsche and nose a nova. Im sure i’ll figure it out, i was curious and didnt find axle weights. If theres much extra it’ll be worth taking 2 trips.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
By looking at it a 40/60 bias to the rear would be my guess. A quick call to a tractor lovin buddy sez the same thing. Load it backwards and center it if it can be done safely.
