Hey guys - not sure how all the older Tundras are in this aspect, or the other trucks , but do you think that the super large openings in the grills are "inviting" all the rocks to get in and damage the 3 radiators? I know that there are active shutters, but probably not at every speed and they will not cover all the open space.

Plenty of room on previous models as well. I now have steel screen material zip tied in front of the radiator.

Got tired of cleaning bird and bug guts outta my radiator. My local mechanic places screens in all of his cars/ trucks as well. He said Modern radiators are thin, light weight, and relatively fragile.

Now it’s standard equipment in all my cars/trucks

I believe the active shutters close at highway speeds which is when a rock could be going fast enough to damage the grill.

Not sure if they will cover the intercooler rads on the sides but I hope that somebody in engineering was thinking about this more than about eliminating the tow hooks on off-road vehicles
