I'll be taking delivery of my 22 next week. SR5 Crew Max with TRD OR package. The Michelin tires are getting removed ASAP. They are 265/70/18. I want to move up a little. I'm torn between 275/70/18 or 285/70/18. If anyone has upgrade their tires please show some pics and let me know what you went with. A lift isn't available yet so they'll need to fit without a lift. It seems 285/70/18 will fit but the safer option is 275/70. More tire choices in 275/70 as well. My 2011 Rock Warrior stock size tires are 285/70/17 so assuming Toyota didn't change much in the geometry or wheel well size 285/70/18 should fit without any modifications needed. If anyone has any ideas or opinions let me know. Thanks!

your blazing a trail my man, not may people even have one of these yet, let alone tire swapping.

the last gen info is meaningless, all new truck

your dealer, or tire dealer should be able to test fit and see if there is rubbing lock to lock or at full suspension compression

Congratulations what color are you getting? Looking forward to seeing what size tires work on the 22.

    Too many, but not enough....
maybe some pictures of your wheel wells and with the tires turned to help indicate clearance you have when you get the truck would help. From there you could kind of gauge the rub spots and how much room you have.

There’s a bunch of lifted and moded 2022’s all ready. Search Facebook or google will probably get the info your looking for.

I’m surprised this forum has so few actual 2022 owners yet. There’s dealers lifting trucks on the lot.

Probably tired of the trolls saying how ugly their new truck is.

They belong on a Camry lol. They are probably a half way decent tire but they look horrible IMO. I'm the original owner of my 2011 Rock Warrior and I've had BFG A/T K0/K02 for the last 11 years so I'm used to that kind of look. I'm definitely going to change just don't know if I'll go 275/70 or 285/70. I want to get it done at dealership before I take delivery so maybe they will give me a little credit for the Michelin AT towards new tires.

    Fair enough.

Ask a dealer to throw some tires on your truck and see how big you can go.

I'd play it safe and go 275/65

Maybe consider finding a good private tire shop. Let them know what you are after and see if they will let you toss one on a rim and turn the wheel lock to lock once on the ground.

Private shop will usually be more willing to work with you if they know they are getting business one way or another.

I'm currently looking for a local shop to help me upgrade instead of going to Discount Tire but I think I'm going to play it safe and go with 275/70/r18

It looks like the Pro which has 285/65/18's has the wheels spaced out a little so be careful of rubbing. Is your intention to move of it tire height for ground clearance? Or just to a better tire? Asking since the stock 265/70/18's and the 285/65/18's on the Pro are basically the same diameter.

Just know that going up a size adds weight, side walls are “E” rated (rough ride) and a taller tire takes more effort to turn, will hurt mileage if you care, etc…yep, for example, the AT3s I have that are one size up from stock look really cool but that’s it. Not ideal on the street.

I don't buy tires for looks. I buy tires for function. Michelin makes street tires not aggressive off road tires. They are good street tires. For fitment turn tires full lock and measure clearance with Michelins. Then take the diameter difference and half it. Also check clearance to upper ball joint. Then look at the width difference.

this’ll let you see all the differences in size from each aspect. Including how much it’ll throw off your speedo. Generally you can change 10% without rubbing, in any dimension, on a stock vehicle. But not always. As others have said, you’re on a path few have tread yet, and your findings will influence others that get their trucks later, which is pretty cool!

They installed Michelin LTX trail on my 22 and it supposed to come with All terrain tires. The dealer agreed to switched them out for AT tires.

they don’t look good to even fit the truck in my opinion. Would like to have some what aggressive looking tire until it gets lifted and wheels replaced.

Had I known this I would’ve got this tire size!! Oh well I’ll just wait until I do the whole lift and all.

those look slick, I’m just not keen on dropping $1500 out the gate (for something that is already brand new), but I’m kinda cheap and saving for boards and cover first. :)

Yeah boards are definitely on my list as the first purchase.

In the video on this truck, he says they are 295/70r17, which are 33", but the wheels look to be toyota 18" so think he meant to say 295/70r18, in that case these are 34.3".

I would look at price as not much difference in sizes
