Dishpan is dependent on which direction you're heading. It's easy going from Crab Flats to Arrowhead(E2W). A little bit tougher going the other way(W2E)! Have you done Holcomb Creek? That's a great trail! Nice rock garden at the west end.

I guess we're doing Dishpan both ways! lol

I don't think we've done Holcomb yet. Honestly, I don't pay attention to the names. I run off my GPS maps which are all forest road numbers. This year I plan on doing all those trails including Holcomb.

I usually post my trips on TT because the mods there are not snowflakes. But pay attention to the CA regional here. I'll start posting my trips there as well. We're going in June, just haven't picked a weekend yet. I'll probably do another trip in July and/or August as well depending on interest.

Definitely interested in a wife/kid friendly trip. I've got a 14month old and my wife isn't cool with rough trails with the baby on board, and I'd like to do something with them and other rigs.

I just started researching Holcomb Creek. Have you done this trail before? In a Tundra? Some of the reviews make it look very difficult to do with long wheelbase. Although, I am leery of the Internet. I have done several trails in the tundra that the Internet said were impossible to do in my truck.

For example, I have successfully done Gold Mountain. However, I cannot do the John Bull Gatekeeper.

If I'm not mistaken, I did Holcomb Creek a couple of years back. It's one of the easiest trails near big bear lake. I did not even use 4x4. I even remember passing 2 sedans in the trail.

Ok that sounds great. We can do White Mtn.(3N17) Just not the hard part between 3N11 and 3N16(headed east). It's fairly easy coming from 4N16. It says it's a black diamond but it's really a blue square on that section. Look forward to it.IMG_0076.jpgIMG_0163.jpg

I've done Holcomb Creek(3N93)a few times in both directions. Only in my 4rnr. Never in a Tundra. Your breakover angle isn't great. High centering is a probability. Maybe if it was on 37s at least. Or 40s. My buddy has done it in his '89 FJ-62 on 35s and it ain't little either. If you don't mind grinding your undercarriage and maybe an occasional tug, then I think you'll be fine. An alternate, slightly less rugged route is to take Lower Larga(2N06X)which connects to 3N93 about the midway point. Then take that east to 3N14. There are gatekeeper/rockgardens at either end of Holcomb Creek 3N93.
