Look like they'd be a fairly competent snow tire. Little aggressive side tread for AT cred.

Check back with us on wear, noise, performance.

I let it sit for hours to drain the pan for step 1. That could be the confusion. We took the kids to see a movie.

Tonight the shifter walked off the job while I was alone in the middle of nowhere, so I had to put a crowbar on the brake while I crawled underneath through the mud puddle I was parked in and forced the shifter into drive.

At this point you can tell I didnt kill myself in the process, but it was still really stupid.

Shifter bushing is bad on the column and the shift cable fell off.

Also figured out why the tail lights werent working. I put one of the fuses back in the wrong spot last night. Oops.

Too bad it would be a pita to remove and drill a hole for a cotter pin (with a bronze bushing between the cotter pin and linkage).

Yeah. The eyelit on the end of the cable is plastic too. Just disposable junk all the way around.

I know haha. I dont have high expectations for it. The parts store 4 blocks from my house had it on the shelf and i have to work tomorrow. I will probably order the correct bushing as a spare after the christmas shipping storm is over.

At least now I know where it is. I was able to change the bushing with a flathead screwdriver and only slightly opening the steering column covers and the lower knee panel cover under the steering wheel. If it pops off again i can wiggle it back on with my fingers instead of running myself over.

Is this a preventative maintenance item.:monocle:

Applicable to column shift only or console too?

Mine is column shift, but I'd assume the console shifter is the same setup except for the difference in location.

Might be worth buying the dorman bushing and throwing it in the glovebox. My local store had it in stock.

Truck's at only 80k miles but it's 14 years old so I figured I should change the spark plugs. Taught my daughter how to do it herself and save a few hundred bucks.

I asked if she knew what torque was and she did a weird dance, so that's why I made her use a torque wrench.

Factory sub was a tease. Added a jl audio 13tw5, an xs750 battery and a jl audio 600/1 slash amp. Wired temporary for now. Gonna make an amp rack and relocate the battery. Also building another box that is upfiring instead of down. It hits hard so i had to add the ratchet strap to keep it from trying to jump out of the truck. Sounds great for the rock and metal i listen too

Like the engine cover I went ahead and added red epoxy to the grill emblem to match. A cheap way to "upgrade" the grill. May not be your cup of tea, but I like it. It goes with the 5.7 engine side emblems and the red rear anti sway bar.
Unfortunately, like some folks I had trouble removing the grill's retaining nuts from the "revolving bolts", so I just pulled the hood off the truck. 4 easy bolts to remove instead of fighting with 10 rusted on nuts.

Back from the body shop. They repainted the chip, but to fade into the rest of the paint they inadvertently repainted a bunch of ugly scuffs and places where I’d globbed on touch up paint. 2D88BB88-A276-42A6-8D92-6DFABD5E3C76.jpg73C531C0-C28E-444F-A193-3894C37BE30F.jpg
