not saying it can’t go off road I just wouldn’t ever buy one because I needed a off road truck. I’m buying a tundra for a tow and long trips truck. But I just happen to have a Tacoma with only 160k that I plan to keep for the trails that I could never fit a tundra. Unless paint became something I didn’t care about having anymore lol where I live hard to get places are over grown and narrow. Not wide open and rocky.

My thoughts with Toyota has always been that they may never be the number one truck off the showroom floor, the big 3 are always going to have more gadgets and will tweak their numbers to be the "best" etc, but a 5 year old Toyota will almost always be number 1 over any other 5 year old truck. In my experience, they just hold up better and that is more important to me than being number 1 off the showroom floor. I never truly used my current tundra to its capacities so the new one will meet my needs as well. Yeah it hurts the ego a little bit not to have the #1 rated truck, but I dont care much about others opinions anymore as long as I am happy with it. Thankfully I have 3 or 4 years before I will need to make that decision.

I’m pretty sure they are confused about the gas tank. They think it’s only 27ish gallons. No it’s a 32.2 gallon tank but there’s probably only around 27 usable gallons if it’s anything like the 2nd gen 36 gallon tank.

Just because the fuel light is on doesn’t mean the gas isn’t usable.

TFL just did a comparison of the Limited TRD OR with the Ram BackCountry. The Toyota did well, wish the front end was not as low as they designed it and it had 18” instead of 20” TRD wheels. I’m not sure how to spec the 18” wheels on Toyotas website.

I'm sure you could swing a deal with your salesman if you don't want to save some money by going aftermarket.

I understand we all love a V8's but Turbo's offer unquestionable performance gains, yes they need maintenance like every other ICE component. I have a twin turbo 6 cylinder engine from a 3 series BMW. That engine is awesome, very good mileage when you drive like a grandma but electrifying performance when you step on the gas.
