What does everyone think of this thing?
I am wondering what its specs are when it is running off of nothing but the range extender (likely 170 HP). I think it is an interesting concept, but it is really not practical for a truck. 80 Mile range...
Sure it has a range extender, but are you going to be able to tow with that puny gas motor, likely not(2 cylinder motor).
is it just me or does it have the appearance of the chevrolet Silverado from the side-view?

I know what I am thinking... Keeping my Gas-powered Tundra.

If they can come up with a "range extender" that actually puts out more than 250 HP/250 torque, than it might be considerable.

Though when it comes to trucks, I am somewhat of a traditionalist, so I am unlikely to ever buy something similar to this in the next 20 years.

Looks like a honda ridgeline and Chevy Colorado had a baby. How much is it?

I can't drive a car or truck that doesn't have a grille. It's so ugly.

I think it is more ugly than a handful of smashed assholes, but that is just me.

    Technical side:

-Nice to have extra power, but on job sites, how often to you see someone using a power cord drill?
-Weird it is an 8 Lug wheel pattern with only 2200 lb load capacity (more than most 1/2 tons).
-Tow capacity is pretty crappy, however if not towing or mainly using capacity, not overly bad.
-460 HP is nothing to bulk at with instant torque, and having 80 miles of that plus an additional 310 miles if using the generator to charge batteries. 390 miles isn't horrible.

Is that how it works? I thought that the "range extender" was just a backup motor to supply power to the drivetrain but if it supplies the electric motor with a charge, that would make sense.

I don't care how it looks if it works well.
Don't think I'm racing out to buy one, but for many urban dwellers and in town contractors it could be a good option.
I wonder how long it takes to get a full charge? How many years till the battery pack needs replacement?

This is more for house work and take market from Honda Ridgline not Tundra. I saw this one the news. Interesting to see what the consumer specs and design will finally be

460 hp, 0 to 60 in 5.5. Not too shabby. I had to eat crow last weekend. My sister-in-law got a Chevy Volt EV. She told me it would do 0 to 60 under 7 secs. I called bullshit, then came home and looked it up. :anonymous:

That instant insane torque will make you eat crow.

We have the Tesla Sports all over the place here. I have seen those damn things rip off from a stoplight.

Maybe, but they are making a 3/4 and 1 ton as well.

It will be amazing what happens in the next 20 years in the truck/vehicle market.

I've heard Teslas are badass. Because of the car selling rules here I've seen very few.

    Too many to list
With in 10 years, we will see electric cars, pick up trucks and semi everywhere. Most of your existing vehicles are computer controlled. I was anti Tesla but after driving it for a week, I was sold on electric cars. It is the future and it's awesome. Enjoy the combustion engine while you can. It will b the thing of the past soon.

Shave it's ass and drive it backward ugly, especially the wheel wells with flat straight lines instead of a radius. I'd rather see hydrogen. I think the manufacturing of batteries still leaves a lot to be desired. But I'm far from an expert on the subject.
