It'll actually be an improvement if they designed the tank so you can use all 32 gallons. :burp:

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
I was curious about this too, so I did the math rather than just assume the 5.7L V8, 4.30:1 rear end, and 6 speed auto were better.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/wheel-torque-comparison-of-2021-vs-2022-tundra.99265/

Pretty illuminating. The 2022 has a very significant advantage in wheel torque in lower gears over the 2021. The iForceMax makes absurd wheel torque numbers for a 1/2 ton, probably going to be governed hard by electronic nannies to save u joints, pinion gears, and tires…

Yeah, just turn the audio down…. makes that video much better.

New truck is faster, and it’s not even close.

    That's what I did :D

No kidding..... And the 5.7L has a "beast mode" for takeoffs, if the driver so chooses.

Hybrid has a larger rear diff to handle the torque

Tug of war tests are pretty useless tbh. However, did you see some of their acceleration videos against the two (which also weren't exactly great)? The 22 walked away from the 21 like it was towing an anchor....Also, TFL put out a video where a 22 pulled even with the new Raptor. I dunno guys this isn't even the hybrid which will be noticeably faster. Going to be some hurt feelings soon.

it would be cool to see that drag race with 5.29 gears on the 2.5 gen.

Also, TFL put out a video where a 22 pulled even with the new Raptor on 37" tires.

Might help until about 60mph but after that gears alone isn't going to make up that much of a difference.

Well the 35" models are only about one to two tenths slower max. The 37" tire package is actually lighter too. Still yes, it's a 5" taller tire factory and frankly looks 100x better than the Tundra so there is that. But it's a Ford so there is that too...I won't lie I've been heavily cross shopping both.

I think if both were on 37's the Raptor would have likely came out ahead. I'm sure it won't be long until we find out with all these videos coming out :D.

Very true. 100lb wheel and tires package has it's disadvantages. However, with nothing but a intercooler/tune the Raptors are 600hp/650tq all day. Going to be quite some time before any Tundra hits that...

Believe it or not the supercharged 5.7s already are. Harrop stage 2 with headers and a larger intake are making 600 at the wheels, so crank hp is way up there. I’m sure eventually the tuned 3.5 v6 will make some good power too, I guess VF tuner already said they are supporting it.

You guys need to lighten up. TFL drag raced the new Tundra against the Raptor because we're truck guys and that's the type of thing we do for fun. You don't have to take it (or yourselves) so seriously.

But we have to have something to bitch about since whining about tire size threads, 10mm sockets and lift threads has gotten really old at this point.

Hell I'm happy they did and massively surprised at the outcome having it not be a Max. Those guys are pulling mid 5-sec 0-60 times at sea level with the Raptor 37's. That means the Max is going to be faster than I think people assume. I still haven't seen very good acceleration videos of a Max. I will bet money when people start seeing the true performance numbers from these TT engines and 10sp combos the whole "well the 21 looks better" stuff will be yesterdays news.
