Hey guys. Looking for someone with a BDS bracket lift in the Houston area to help us out.

Tyler @Classy63 is owner/workaholic of Valhalla's Shield. He makes catalytic converter theft deterrent/skid plates in the Houston area. They're flying off the shelf, which is awesome! He makes a good product, has phenomenal customer service, and has rave reviews on his thread:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/val...ent-skid-plates-info-and-ordering-post.84911/

Us BDS-lifted folk have been chomping at the bit for him to develop plates for bracket-lifted Tundras so we could have some deterrence from all the rampant cat thefts. Only problem is he doesn't have access to one for taking measurements.

If anyone with a BDS 7" bracket lift is in the Houston area (he's in Cypress), you'd make some folk mighty happy if you have the time & desire to swing by Tyler's place so he'd be able to take some measurements.

    Thanks much!

I'm in Dallas, offered to drive it to Cypress for him to have a go at it after reading this post in July. He wasn't interested.

Today I was searching/hoping someone had come up with some plates for us BDS lifted trucks.

    It doesn't appear anyone has.

He has plates now for lifted trucks, including BDS bracket lifts.

Thanks for reaching out to him over the summer - appreciated.

The plates shown are not for BDS lift that I can tell and certainly not the 7" lift, or have you installed one on yours with the BDS 7" lift. Enlighten me please as I'm very interested if he made or makes them.

I made an adapter for BDS lifts, you can order a lifted plate with the adapter on my website

Quick question though. I see the adapter is bolted to the BDS plate using the pentagon bolt but can’t the dipshits loosen the BDS bolts and gain access?

The bolts circled are the factory BDS bolts. I could offer them in pentagon

Unbolting these bolts would give them more access. But with the BDS lift being a very hard lift to accommodate, I was happy to find a bolt on solution. The other option would be a weld on, and that scare many away

Just a quick thought- vice grips, torque em good, maybe even loctite too.

I was thinking the same thing, and was just going to get Screwd security bolts for them like for the rest of the bolts (a bit better than the pentagon ones, imo). Tyler - I don't suppose you know what size BDS bolts these are, do you? I'll figure it out if not.

Locks were only invented to keep the honest man honest. It doesn't really matter what you put down there if a true thief wants to steal it. The shields are only a deterrent (that also serve as a skid WooHoo!!).

Yep. For the the persistent thief, it won't stop them. But it will further deter those who are looking to do it quickly.

Looked it up in the installation instructions for the BDS 7" lift. The 3 rear bolts are 1/2" x 1-1/4"
You could replace them with pentagon bolts or Screwd bolts to further secure it.

Edit: it doesn't say what the thread pitch is though. I could check when I get home if someone is interested.

If you scrape up the head of the Screwd bolts, then you’re screwed.

Regardless I’m still getting one (ordered just now) because nobody has a regular skid that covers that section of the undercarriage for BDS lifts.
