Cannot find DVR option that works to tie both cameras into FRAC. Would these 2 options work with FRAC?

Putting out the feelers, but I am parting out my truck and have a frac harness + camera cusotm mounted in a MGM trd pro grill in Boise, ID. Don't want to ship everything, so if your somewhat local I'll cut you a great deal.

It looks lik you have link an HDMI to AV converter and and HDMI recorder. The Tundra video is standard analog NTSC video, not HDMI. So if you want to use the HDMI video capture device, you would need to convert the existing analog AV signals to digital (HDMI).

Also, these devices are single-channel, so if you want both front and rear video to record, you would need two sets of these items.

I was thinking the same thing. @Puppypunter might have cool ideas.

OP, thanks for the inspiration on the switch, I had been agonizing about that for quite some time and I think the simple option is a good one as you’ve done. The ABC switch isn’t an option in my 2002 unfortunately but the round I / II should work for now. Steering wheel controls would be ideal really but a lot of work to add.

Auto on would make me happy though since I’m running a Pionner 4660 so I can force camera on if I want to do it the hard way but I would definitely appreciate not having to.

I have a piece of tape on the floor of my garage running from the door to the wall. If I line the "parking" lines on the camera up with the edge of the tape, I know that I won't scrape my truck on the side of my work bench. (I only have 2" of clearance between the edge of my truck body and the bench.) I have gotten good enough now that I can almost always pull in to the driveway and line up perfectly with the tape.

When I can't back into a parking place, I get as close as possible to the front line so my truck is not sticking out into the aisle. These trucks are not short.

Me too, I find myself backing up more so I can get right on the line/up to the pole when parking, when I pull in, I leave too much room. Going to install over Christmas break :)

    Hey fellas
I've been watching this thread for awhile (like a fat kid watches cake) And I'm wondering if theres any info on getting a FRAC w/nav bypass harness installed in my 2008 Tundra Limited CrewMax? I was gonna try the LockPick route but, I read if you let the dealership flash the ECM for the recall they snuck in a patch that disabled said Lockpick from interfacing with stock HU .. any guidance is appreciated ..

The FRAC Harness is compatible with 2014 to 2021 Tundras. I designed the FRAC core circuit to work with virtually any vehicle. The issue is getting the circuit interconnected with the correct plug-and-play connectors and harnesses of other vehicles and year models. It could likely be done. But it wouldn’t necessarily be plug and play. I’ll have to give that some thought.

If you are serious about wanting a FRAC Harness for your 2008, I will look into what it takes to make it happen. I'll need more info on your head unit amp configuration and camera display though. PM me if you're interested.

I installed the frac last weekend and it's awesome!

Has anyone had issue with water or moisture getting in the camera through the wire hole? I know it's IP rated but was thinking about putting a glob of silicone to fill the hole.

Glad the FRAC is working out for you! The Natika cameras are pretty well built. They usually are epoxied internally to keep the water out, but if a dab of silicon makes you feel better, do it!

I figured that's how they get their IP rating but I am nothing if not a huge supporter of overkill.

Spent a good part of the weekend doing a website update. It's not quite ready for publishing, but I though I'd give y'all a snapshot of one of the new items that will be available in January.

This is awesome. I’ll be ordering this after the first of the year, along with the new OEM style switch.

So when can we expect a cargo camera in the third brake light above the back window? :boink: :D

Posted this in a fresh thread, but including it here for those following this thread...

After much effort I have now sourced an OEM Style FRAC Camera selection switch (Pic Below)

To celebrate this momentous event and to thank all of my previous and future forum customers, I will be offering Tundras.Com members free shipping on all paid orders from my website www.FRACharness.com now through the end of January.

Use Promo Code TUNDRAS.COM at checkout to receive free shipping.

The switch price has been reduced to $25 (or $20 if ordered with a Full FRAC Harness kit).

I have spiffed up the website a bit and added standard Credit Card payment options. It's been reviewed and tested, but please let me know if you see any typos or encounter any difficulty in the ordering process.

Wishing you all a Very Happy New Year!

    - Lou

So I have my frac roughed in for testing, when I switch from the "rear camera view" to "OFF" using the switch it flashes a quick view of the front camera before turning the frac off. Does anyone else have this problem, and is there something I can do to troubleshoot this?

This happens to me too. Pretty sure it's because it's a dual throw switch and maybe it's sensitive. It doesn't seem to be a problem though.

The install guide mentions this as normal behavior due to different head unit and FRAC relay speeds or something. I haven't installed mine yet so I haven't seen it myself yet.
