I’m happy I can’t afford a new truck, so don’t have to decide between my trusty ‘08 and a new one. Time will tell, it always does.

And I suspect that in a few years the new model Tundra will prove to be a solid, reliable truck with plenty of advantages (and some disadvantages) over the previous generation.

I’m still unsure on the looks, but then, I’m getting old and crotchety enough to hate change, and I didn’t think the 2nd or 3rd gen Taco or the 2.5 gen Tundra looked good at first. A few years later… …Wow. Nice truck!

I've seen them live at the Texas State Fair this year.
Yes, they look much better than in the pics.
When you see a grille pic, you focus on it.
When you see the whole package; front, sides, rear, and interior, it all comes together.

I didn't like the 2014s when they came out, they looked too big.
But when my 2005 got too damaged to keep, I bought a 2014 and never looked back.
I'll be keeping that 2014 for 5 to 7 more years, then get a good deal on a lightly used Gen 3.

Is the 2022 front grille a little too much?
Yes, but so is any other manufacturer; Ford, Chevy/GMC, Dodge.
They are all a sign of the design times.

I know you, how you like to spend money on any and every mod, and you like have the latest greatest sh!t.
Not only will you buy a 2022 before the end of 2022, but you'll be posting about every mod you've done to it as you go.
    Mark my words.................................

Will someone please get out a Dremel and put a winch bumper on these poor trucks. Sorry couldn't resist.
My Son has a 1st gen, I really didn't like those when they first came out. Same with each gen after, but they've all grown on me, so I will have to wait and see. But damn......
I've always wanted one, hopefully the Tundra longevity lives up to it's million mile heritage, and there will be plenty of used ones around in ten years when I can afford it.

I was thrilled to see this. Here I Canada, our roads are covered in rocks and gravel for the winter. Our fenders take a pounding and when you see older trucks they are all rusted out. It’s why so many guys go with flares.

this gives a buffer. It will be black unpainted plastic taking the beating while the paint stays fresh. Can’t wait.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Well you drive a 2.5 Gen Tundra so your truck looks even worse.

Does 2022 come with dual exhaust?
I don't see it under options or accessories.

Everyone is worried their 17year old 2021 tundra will drop in value when the new girl on the block comes in.

I don’t know if you’ve seen one in person but the spoiler isn’t bad at all. Least of my worries. I don’t like the chrome at all on mine. I plan on fixing that at some point.

If we ignore the black trim, it'll most likely fade. If we use any of the several synthetic sealants, like Dura Gloss Aqua Wax, the trim AND the headlights will stay looking new. Aerospace 303 is ideal protection too.

I’m glad to hear that as I have not seen one up close in person. I’ve only seen them from a distance driving around town. Chrome delete ftw!

It’s the ego thing for them bro. Few years back 2.5 was one of “The trucks” to get. Coolest Toyota truck on the road…but not anymore, since the 22 came out.

2.5 and below will start to look outdated, as we see more and more 2022s on the road.

Honestly I don’t get why there’s so much hate with the new gen from the 2.5 folks. I would drive both if I could afford it lmao. Pros and cons to both

Deep down insecurity, as it comes out to the surface. They go out their way to bash on newer/better things.

its a combination of things. anything new requires time to warm up to for a lot of people (me included). The other big one is people just can't help but to defend their purchases. Some have spent a few years loving their Tundra and then latest and greatest (tbd) comes out, their first instinct is to put it down, bitch and moan that it sucks and say it'll never be good. Time will tell if they're right or just being negative Nancy's. New vehicles are subjective, who cares what another internet stranger thinks if it isn't constructive? not I!

Nah they’re delusional. The entirety of the 2nd Gen and 2.5 Gen trucks were ugly, I own one and it’s ugly. The 2.5 Gen though is ugly and cheesy with fake hood scoops, it has looked mildly retarded since day 1.

You don't have that issue with Ford, they are not on the road long enough for something like that to happen.

Jfc. Like what is the absolute obsession fanbois have with fords? He wasn’t even talking about the ford design being better and you somehow bring up ford?

Can a tundra not be critiques without the defense being “bUt FeRd”
