Hi Guys, I have a 2021 TRD off road that I would like to buy the BEST fitting most compact flairs for my truck . Basically for protection not for looks. I am looking to keep the stock trd wheels which is why I don't want flairs that are wide. Plus I would like to re fit the oem mud flaps if possible.

I keep seeing guys talking about oem flares but tundra never came with fender flares so what are they talking about?

How many different versions of flares are there? or are they just re branded?

thank so you much for your help

Some random pics I have found

    Picture 1
OE Style Fender flares -Toyota (00016-34047)
Genuine OEM Toyota Parts & Accessories - 000163404
    [IMG]

    Picture 2
The brown truck is also labeled as (Toyota fender flares) not sure if they are the same as the white truck above. I don't think they are the same since if you look at the white truck they are not the same thickness left and right compared to the top portion. Vs the brown truck the flares look even thickness all the way around.

    Picture 3
Identified as "Sparks" so I am guessing OEM Toyota that Sparks calls them (with mud flaps)

    Picture 4
Extend A Flare - these have a square look to them.(no mud flaps)

    Picture 5
    Extend-a-Fenders
    [IMG]

    Picture 6
Bushwacker OE - this look more round and I see mud flaps are they oem flaps?

    Picture 7
Bushwacker 30917-63 OE (has mud flaps)
PS I am also able to find another part number from Bushwacker not sure what the difference is 30917-02 Black OE
    [IMG]

    Picture 8
white truck with "OEM flares" not sure on details here but I do see mud flaps

Picture 2 is what Toyota sells as OEM....they are actually made by Bushwacker, but no, the trucks didn't have them from the factory that I am aware of.....at least not on the 14-21's. Some of the 07-13's did IIRC.

EAG here cheap and slim, but you lose the flaps. Not the best photo 20211120_085609.jpg

I emailed Bush wacker and asked him they made it for Toyota, they deflected the question and just sent me the link to their website. They won’t confirm or deny if they made them for Toyota or not. Can anyone ?

It's never been a factory option, but it has been a port/dealer installed one. If you got it with flares from the dealership then they marked them as OEM, but they are indeed bushwacker flares. Use the search function at the top right of the page and you can find lots of info on flares.

There’s Southeast Toyota and Gulf States Toyota ones. If the part number starts with 00016 it’s a Southeast Part, and if it starts with 00012 it’s Gulf States. As to who makes both of them :notsure:.

There is no official Toyota OEM fender flairs so people who say their truck came with them likely got the SET or GST ones as a port-installed option.

Some dealers add them as well, these could be any brand.

You also see more than one option for bushwhacker OE ones on their website because they offer paintable abs versions as well as a textured version.

I searched a long time before settling on these. Fit the bill and were the most compact flares that I could find.

Got any images that show how that looks around the gas door?

Those look nice, even with the TSS wheels.

Thanks! It's actually a "Texas Edition", but I think the wheels are similar in size/backspacing as TSS. I wasn't able to retain mud flaps, but I really don't miss them either.

Really like the look of yours! Did you go with the textured or smooth finish and is that the .75” coverage or 2” Coverage?

    Thanks @edgewardoe!

Mine are the .75in coverage in textured finish. I've had them for a little over 1 year and the finish looks the same as new (I'm in South/Central Texas). My goal with these was to cover a few door dings and prevent any future ones...so far not even a scratch on them. I highly recommend.

@CanTundra not sure where in Canada you are, but if you are in YYC I have a set of Bushwacker OEM slim flares for sale that have never been installed.

    Howdy @normagene!

Your Texas Edition Tundra looks great! I didn't realize these were still available in 2021. What specific options were included with your "Texas Edition"? Have always been curious what was included with this package. I bought my 2016 in 2018 and didn't receive the original window sticker. Mine has 4WD, Leather, Entune Premium w/Nav, Tx Ed badge and Lots of chrome. I wasn't thrilled about all the chrome, but the other options were spot on.

Born and Raised in the great state of Texas……so I did my own “Texas Edition”.

I just ordered some Texas Edition badges, the small round ones (2) and stuck them above the OE “Limited” badges similar to yours. Also ordered the larger GM/Chevy Texas Edition badge that they use on their version but instead of on the doors I stuck it on the tailgate!

So my Texas Edition tall tail is: Color matched grille surround and gray grille insert. Gray OE stainless steel steps, dual exhaust, and plenty of other small mods.

Did all these mods myself and had a great time making it my very own TEXAS EDITION.

If memory serves me right……Toyota never made a “Texas Edition” truck from the factory. It was a Gulf port ad on. Badges, chrome step, 20” rims, floor mats, and maybe a thing or two more I can’t remember.

So I basically did the same thing!

I just bought this 21 Platinum Demo on Thursday and it has oem painted fender flares. It's hard to see but there's the black rubber gasket between the flares and body. I can see if I can get a part number or something. 20211230_154353.jpg

Do you have the window sticker? Fender flares are usually added on at port or by a dealership.

No I don't, it was a demo with 12k km on it. It has a lot of extras. Was a small town Dealership that drove it and displayed it as advertising. I'll be talking to them on Monday.

Makes sense that he did his own mods and set it up the way he liked. Looks like they did an awesome job!

The dealership can get you the original sticker. Be nice if they have the ad on sticker too.

Wow……they went all out to make a statement.

    What’s the “Tailgate badge” ?

Ya I’m with ya on the hood deflector. It just doesn’t look good with a hood bulge. Looked great on my 07 Tundra.

Oh ok, I thought you meant you had a “Texas Edition” tailgate badge. I put the Zinc alloy Tundra letter inserts in mine. They’re like 1/4” thick so it has a nice 3D effect.

Ya, it's got the black metal letters. It's like a $144.00 option installed from Toyota. You can buy them much cheaper on Amazon or wherever and install yourself.
