Hopefully dirtydeeds will reply to this so I can contact him. He seems to be one of the go to people for aftermarket performance on these machines. I've been scouring the market for months. It's a terrible time to buy used trucks or anything with an engine for that matter. I was trying to stay under 40k and that's pretty tough when you're picky about options because there's not a plethora of tundras on the market up here in the northeast like there are ford's. Anyway, I test drove a 17 cm and liked it but didn't really want the dark grey. Finally I find a black 19 cm. I'm test driving it tomorrow and will hopefully be happy to purchase it. I looked at it about 3 months ago and it was listed at 39,500. The manager took it as his personal vehicles. They called me yesterday to see if I was interested and I said yea I'll come take a look. They now have a listed 2,500 more. Did the manager add that much value?? Geez

That being said I don't leave anything stock. The 17 drove great but seemed to have hesitation when I got into it. This will have to get tuned out. The shifting was kind of weird too. I'll be putting an exhaust and intake on almost immediately. My old favorite brands were corsa sport exhaust and afe momentum gt pro. I planned to go with those but a lot of people here suggest the bam exhaust. Also, not sure of what tuner to get. On my 11 ram I got a Diablo turner which was neat because I had custom tunes made plus I myself could change shift points, throttle sensitivity and advance timing on it. Gonna need a little more power, these are pretty underpowered in modern day. Any suggestions would be great and I am looking forward to joining the yota community!

    Welcome to Tundras!

Sharing some advice, just my 2 cents though.

It seems intakes don’t do that much for our trucks. Toyota did a great job designing the intake, just a heads up the juice may not be worth the squeeze to you.

@dirtydeeds is a busy guy, but if you check the vendor forum part of this site and look for his threads you will see all the info you need.

Also check out the tow/haul button on your truck if/when you get it. The trucks have the power, you just need to push more to get to it. The tow/haul changes the mapping and shift points for towing but it makes the throttle a lot more sensitive/responsive. Some guys drive with it like that all the time.

Good luck with your purchase today!
