One time when the dealer was trying to give me the hard sell on nitrogen I asked if they suck all of the air out of the tires before filling with nitrogen. That ended that discussion.

I'm in Florida and flying to Texas to pick up my truck. Toyota of Deerfield Beach wanted $10k above MSRP. Dealers in Texas seem to be selling at MSRP.

If it saves you money and you get what you want, go for it. I know with the Rav4 Prime being in CA or the NE, I saw on a reddit forum folks flying up to NY, PA, MA, VT to get a car and driving it home. Lot of folks in CA skipped the 20-30k mark ups by just taking a flight. I will hold out for now as I can wait until it hits MSRP somewhere nearby. I am seeing Limited in the NE area and hoping to see them in the SET region on the next drop at the end of the week.

There are a few Ford dealerships that are offering below invoice on new F150s.

I would want to make sure there's not a catch here. There are members here who ordered a F150 and have been waiting over 6 months. I would want to make sure this isn't too good to be true.

I thought about turning it into a positive experience. My brother is in Austin, it'll give me the ability to visit him and bring my dad along for the ride. We also talked about doing Natchez Trace Parkway for a bit.

I even debated leaving this on to memorialize the trip:

I lived in MS at the time and bought my 2016 Tundra in Texas. None of the local dealers wanted to deal so I found the truck I wanted outside Dallas, did all the paperwork through the mail, then flew out to pick it up. I was out of the dealership in 30 minutes since almost everything was completed already. I've bought two other Toyotas and a Dodge diesel out of state also, I'm in an area where dealers don't want to negotiate so I give them one chance for my business then start looking abroad. I have free travel benefits from my job so it makes it easy to go pick up a new vehicle.

I'm surprised more people don't do this, I've saved thousands that way. Even if you have to buy a ticket they're usually only $2-300 and I enjoy the road trip back.

Crappy things about FL is all of the dealers listing seem to be posting crap information. Platinum's listed as Limited, SR as SR5, double cabs as crewmax. I am looking for a model code or its 4wd counter part and it was listed as coming in at one place. Call them up, they say they don't have that VIN coming to them, no information. I send a link to their own site, still don't know. Send the VIN to my dealership to see if the model code was right and if so if they could get it. Turns out it was a 1794. Dealers either post nothing or are posting junk.

It is called "bait and switch". Dealers around DFW do it all the time on used vehicles. They advertise a popular attractive model to get you in the door. You get there and they left out some specs on that vehicle.

I'm down in Florida around Tampa, Sun Toyota has a $2500 to $5000 market adjustment up charge on all of their vehicles. They even said that they would probably up charge the Tundra 10 to 20k and someone will still buy it. I was like Faaaaaaaah Q......

Bob Tyler in Pensacola will mark up. Didn't ask but they had an SR5 DCSB Tacoma, in the showroom, with a few port options for $43,000 which included a $3500 ADM. I also waited THREE hours for an oil change. F*** those guys.

Just got the call this morning from my preferred dealer. Have the 2WD Crewmax Limited Short Bed in a color that I am ok and all of my options. Adds a couple more and still need the Tonnaeu and step tubes, but it will work. Dealership wants mark up on all of them but he is going to the owner to get it at MSRP for me since this is Toyota #9 for us from there and have two more to purchase in the next 5 years. Waiting to hear back at this point. ETA per SET is Dec 3rd, but likely closer to Christmas.

Just reserved mine. Manager I deal with took the business relationship to the owner and got the 10k mark up waived. From the factory they will add tint, waiting to hear back on tubes and tonnuea cover. If delivery dates are right, should be the first one on the lot.

For those still looking in FL, the SET site just updated with another massive drop. Last week there were roughly 140 planned builds within 100 miles of me, this week its up to 372. Larger dealerships pushing up to 30 cars scheduled.

Sun is one of the better dealers too. I live in Pinellas Park and the PP dealer and Clearwater Toyota could never get or keep and 2020's in stock. I got my 2020 at Sun.

It's more like dumbass dealers. They would post actual pictures of an SR and list it as an SR5. It was like that when I bought my 2020.

Well, don't go to Beaver Toyota if you plan on haggling the price of a Tundra! I couldn't even get them to come off $1,000 on a used Tundra with 92,000 miles on it. They even let me walk away as they were saying "I promise you someone will buy it and pay what we're asking. They're hard to find for sale. As soon as we get one on the lot, it's sold the next day.". They literally let me walk.

lovely, my retort, I promise you Ill never be back even for an oil change

I just had a call me back right now who told me over MSRP yesterday and I said, no. he called again today to see how my shopping is going, Im polite but said, Im fine, no thank you.

my busniess will go to the dealers here who never did any of the BS, Ill just have to wait for them to get the allocation, oh well.
