Was told hybrid will add about $3-4k to existing prices, and the Pro will be very near $80.

I could live with just under 80k, only other vehicle I am considering is a loaded ecodiesel ram rebel which MSRP's at 86k. Toyota resale value is the only consolation.

Double the depreciation for the RAM, not to mention the lost time at the service dept., which will be more frequent with a RAM.
    EcoD is nice though.

Yeah that was the biggest sticking point, in 1.5 years time when inventory normalizes and rebates come back, 2021/2022s will tank. Maintenance was a point as well, albeit I do most of my own.

2.5 inch lift, TRD front and rear sway bars, 33 inch Open Country AT3 305/55R20 and dual TRD exhaust.
The biggest competition for this truck would be Americans coming up to buy the TRD Pro for $60k USD.

No front camera on low to mid trims is a big drawback, on such a large truck with bulky hood, it’s an essential safety feature.

Yeah that's the only feature not available on my order that I would like. Anyone have any experience with aftermarket cameras mounted up font?

I had a 5th gen Ram 1500, the interior is definitely the best in class, but I would not be able to swallow MSRP knowing I had almost 38% off when I bought it in 2019.

Ecodiesel is nice, but I hope they fixed that throttle lag, that is borderline dangerous.

Man I hated the fact that 2021's are still going for MSRP of new ones, and I had a discount that got me invoice which wasnt bad, but knowing they were doing 12k off recently just sucks. Rather my money go to Toyota with a more modest profit margin than Ram/the Dealership knowing that they are making bank of the current climate.

Don't forget resale of Toyota's. They hold their value so well.
I just sold my 2018 Tundra offroad for $52k Canadian a week ago.

That's obscene. The used truck market is out of control. I'm seeing 2019 and 2020 trucks with 50,000 - 80,000kms on them listed at $55K+

I know, I've never seen anything like it. It was good for me but if I was trying to buy used I wouldn't be happy. Tacoma used pricing is worse than Tundra's.

Playing with the US site while I wait for the Canadian configurator to go live today, does anyone know the amount of rear overhang on the 2022's?

It looks like all models excluding the 8' bed have the same wheel base. Do they all have the same amount of rear overhang? I'd like the least amount of rear overhang for towing purposes.

Also, the US site shows the same 'overall length' for every model excluding the 8' which can't be correct. ??

In Ontario a few weeks back two dealers offered me $45k as a trade in on a 2018 SR5 TRD Offroad just quickly over the phone. Two others did more digging before getting back to me and offered me $50k as a trade in. When the first two dealers found out, one of them came up to $50k as well. They will sell these trucks in this market for $53-54k and they are getting close to MSRP on the new truck.

If anyone is considering a trade in on a new Toyota with low inventory like the new Tundra, it is important to keep a few dealers in hand due to the way Toyota allocates vehicles to dealers. You can't just go into a dealer and order the model, trim and color you want. They need to have one of those coming in on an allocation. Otherwise if they don't have what you want coming in, they can only get the vehicle you want by trading with another dealer.

See the 9.00 minute mark from this video for a better explanation.

Doesn't surprise me, this has been the worst roll out of a new vehicle I can remember. In early June Toyota had the big reveal in Texas of it's 22 models but didn't even have one Tundra prototype on hand to show anyone. Maybe they have been taking their time to get it right but it seems more like they are behind schedule which makes me worry about initial quality with a completely new vehicle. I'm starting to think if the build calculator comes out today in Canada you won't be able to see payment options because they won't know the financing rates yet. They don't even have the 2022 Rav4 on their website yet.

I got my allocation for a Crewmax Limited coming in January. Hopefully the value of my 2016 F150 stays high until then. The used market is so inflated right now its honestly not fair. I wonder if many of these used trucks are being sent to USA, or if people are really paying this much locally.

I do like MGM but I'm not that impressed with the colour selection on the base SR5. No red or silver. Blueprint is too dark. Have to pay more for AG.

    Screenshot_20211203-091613~2.jpg

Since I don't off road, I'd have to decide if AG is worth $3k to me.

Ok, I put together the build as I would do it:

Crewmax 4x4, standard box, TRD Off Road, magnetic grey metallic. 84 month, 200,000km ECP protection.

    $62, 995.

If I put $25K down (from selling my '05 and some savings), that puts me around $313 bi-weekly. The only reason for the big extended warranty is the fact that it's a first model year truck and the fact that The Woman and The Kid will be the primary users. I want her to just be able to go to the dealer and have everything taken care of if something happens while I'm at work.

Has anyone looked at the interior of the TRD off-road? That's a lot of silver across the dash. Love the steering wheel though and the 8 inch screen looks better than the IMAX screen on the higher trims.

Well as expected the price has gone up and they have taken away content compared to the previous gen. That blows. To get what I have in my current SR5 TRD Sport I would have to get Limited TRD Off road, more than $10k over what I paid, and that still doesn't get me leather seats. Ridiculous! Guess I'll be hanging on to this one for a long time.

Interesting, SR5 TRD Sport does not come in army green or lunar rock but it does in the states. I think the sport would have sold well in Canada in these colours. Now I wait for the test drive...

I'm probably an idiot but I don't see tow mirrors, rock rails or roof racks anywhere? I see the predator tube step. Are the rock rails and roof racks just a dealer accessory then?

I don't think it will be long until a silver delete kit will be available for the interiors. I can see a company like AJT Designs coming up with something.

I agree, the 8 inch screen looks way better.
