Title says it all. Is the only option for a new Tundra calling up the dealerships, and seeing what they have coming in, or are dealerships letting you order what you want built?

Im sure dealerships will allow you to build what you want, probably will ask for deposit. When i sold, i built vehicles all the time.

Just talked to a different dealer. The one closest to me told me they weren't taking orders, and that I'd need to email them every now and then to see if what was being made was what I wanted. I was told that I'd have to pay just shy of a 3K market adjustment, but they're including a bunch of warranties because of that. Are they just trying to sneak those warranties on by telling me it's market adjustment?

I am interested in the answer to this one as well. The last time I talked to a dealer he said that there was not a way to "build" a Tundra - that there were only the options that come with complete packages.

From what I understand (and I could be wrong) is that you can configure your dream truck send that to your dealer...give them a deposit...they pass on your dream sheet to the factory and when and if the factory builds that exact spec'd model they might be able to ship that to your dealer as part of his allocation...???

So its a question of "if" and "when"?

For me I would like a crew cab long bed silver limited without a moon roof I was told good luck with that...especially along with all the other options I'd like...

If what he told me is accurate, 3-9 months to get exactly what I want. The exception is the TRD Pro. He asked if I was looking for a TRD Pro, and when I said no he said, "Thank God." He had no idea when/if it would come in.

Title says all..for me no deal, 25k miles, paid off and enjoying debt free... Good luck, but entering Super Duty/ HD territory for that price range.

You can't build the pro through Toyota's website either - it seems they don't want to release the hybrid engine yet (no trim model has the hybrid as an engine option).

I read the pro only has the hybrid option.

As someone who has tried to "build" a new Toyota in the past, I will say my experience has been that they don't do it. It's been a while since I bought new, so their stance may have changed. But in 2004 and 2014 I couldnt get it as I liked. In the past, good dealers would help guide to the closest combination match, and offered some dealer installed OEM add ons. It took forever then. And to me it was close enough. But I definately made some sacrifices. With todays markups and delays, you will be waiting eons and paying out the brown hole.

I plan to order my next Tundra once the Hybrid options are released.
    Hybrid Platinum, 6.5ft bed, 4x4, Off-road package, 3” lift. Essentially a 2023 “Platinum Pro”.
We’ll have to see when the current market mosh pit ends.

I told my dealer exactly what I wanted and they said they would order it as part of allocation. A week later they told me I can’t get Tow mirrors in my build. A few days afterwards I got call that the color I picked was not being sent to my geographic area in the trim and package I picked.
So much for “exactly what I wanted”

changed color and no tow mirrors other than that it’s my order should arrive late January ordered late October. Not bad, but not great either.

The only one that interests me is the TRD Pro but still not liking the Grille enough to sell my "paid Off" 2010 Crewmax TRD. Also, I'd still have to come up with $50K probably to order the one I want and complete the deal. I'll wait it out a couple years see how they work out the bugs on this New Design. Until then, I'll continue to upgrade my current great running Tundra!
