So this morning I'm driving to work and see my Check Engine light is on. I'm pushing 536 miles. I don't recall it being on yesterday but honestly don't remember. I do plan on calling the dealership but I wanted to post here for ideas as to why it would.

No obvious issues, I'm on my 2nd tank of gas, no weird noises, all other gauges are normal. Ideas?

    :(

Is the gas cap snug? I think that will cause this issue.

The only true way to know is to get it diagnosed with a reader that will show what the code is. Just take it do the dealer since its warrantied, or scan it yourself, and if it's from an improperly sealed gas cap, reset it or it should go away on itself after a bit if the cap is corrected.

, could've been worse. You are not the first, and certainly won't be the last. Cool that's what it was versus something more serious.

I had the same problem yesterday, only it wasn't my fault. My wife took the truck to pick up my daughter and she decided to fill it up for me, but neglected to tighten the gas cap all the way. :frusty: At least I got a full tank of gas.

Also If you swap to an auto parts average grade lockable gas cap you may find the same problem. I purchased one and apparently the seal is
not that of the stock OEM cap and within 50 miles of driving I got the light also. Now I only use the lockable cap when parking for long periods
at the airport but as soon as I drive I take it off and re cap it with the stock one on the small lanyard. We have 3.25 cent a gallon here and up.
