    Hi,

I started to notice this more and had been trying to pin point the source. I swore it was coming from the CV joint area. I watched videos that suggested skid plate, the TRD Pro one especially, and guys spraying down the front suspension with PB Blaster.... I full time RV and it's been hard to get to a dealership and was wary if they caught wind I was towing and RV may impact warranty.

Anyways...finally got to dealer and they confirmed...skid plate! Looks like they may have torqued it at some point during maintenance as the tech was showing me almost stripped bolts in the back. I own and use a torque wrench and sure it was not me!

They checked and found my battery failing so got a new battery for free too!

400 miles left on 36K warranty and all's well!

What did they end up doing to/with the skid plate to eradicate the squeak?

    Haha!

Nothing! Since I installed it. They said as I've gathered get some rubber grommets or a hard rubber strip underneath it.

I assume they didn't want to assume responsibility if it didn't work.

    No problem!

yeah I was planning on either running a rubber strip, kind of like a weather strip wherever the skid touches frame, either that or some heavy duty rubber ‘washers’.

Hello, I had the same issue recently. The Svc Mgr said that sometimes the techs don't pay attention to the bolts. There is more than one length. As well as, there is a kit to get from dealer. Apparently some of the items are single use when removing. I only had it off myself once. I did not store info in long term. I know when I put it back on, there were no issues. After the dealer messed it up. They owned up to fixing it. Thus how is know about this "kit"... It was all on their dime. I only assume that info is correct. It is back to normal now. No noise.
