Has anyone else had issues with the Toyota app not working with face or Touch ID? This started a few months ago and it’s still not fixed?
I’m paying for this to use remote start and now I have to manually login every time I want to use it, which takes longer than walking out to the truck!
Mainly wondering if people are getting refunds for this or free extensions at least because this pretty much makes this app unusable for me.

Quite frequently…and it sucks because you have to completely reset your password or at least I do…

Yes, having same issues. Toyota has been stating for months its working on the problem. It took 14 years for a new Tundra so don't hold your breath. App is complete shat anyways, if you don't use it almost everyday it signs you out.

Yes. Submit feedback on the app. Bottom right - Account, then Help and Feedback at the bottom of the list. The more feedback they get, the more likely they are to fix it. I went off on them in my feedback since they have programming issues that pretty much every other app out there has overcome. They need to hire some better programmers.

Thanks, just did that. Also requested information on how to get my money back for this POS app. We use the app for my wife's 2020 Rav4 but I installed the CarLink CL6 in my Tundra and regret everyday not just putting one in the wife's car. How the F&%K can some tiny company make an app that works so perfectly and seamlessly yet Toyota builds a complete pile of garbage. I mean it is a product that gets used in everyone of their vehicles and it is painful how bad it is.

Same problem with fingerprint recognition. I have to input the password every time just to use the app. I get there can be problems but there’s no rush to fix this one. It seems like Toyota can’t get their tech reliability act together. Entune has been total garbage and now this.

PS I did give Toyota deserved feedback on this issue.

I let the free trial expire on this big pile of turd app. I occasionally login to add maintenance notes or lookup something in the digital owners manual.

The way I get around the facial recognition error is to open the app away from my face, enter the password manually, then turn off security.

It’s such a POS app. It reminds me of “blowing” in Nintendo cartridges to make them work.

Maybe if we all submit one bug report a day, they will fix it. Whoever decided the app should present two modal dialog boxes, in addition to the basic login issue (thus requiring no less than six clicks to log into the app), should not be in app development. OAuth is really not that hard! On a good day, the functionality is bad, but the UX is simply abysmal. This really is mobile app dev 101 sort of stuff.

I submitted feedback after reading this thread a week or so ago. I don't think it was anything other that pure coincidence but I got an update from apple app store for Toyota app within a day or two. It seems like they have sidestepped some of the security steps involved in signing in. When I click the app it takes me straight to the Toyota home screen (sometimes with the same pop up about face id not working correctly). If the pop up opens, I just click OK and I'm straight to the Toyota home screen.

I am having a bigger problem though. Everything worked fine during the free first 12 months after buying my truck. Once it expired and I purchased 1 year of access to the app, it says "remote services activation required". When I follow the steps and get to the point where I need to click allow or something on my truck's infotainment screen, the button is greyed out and can't be clicked. I tried calling Toyota's help line but a rep never called me back as they promised. Any thoughts from yall as to whats up with that?

While I agree with you the problem is happening with all their vehicles. I'm sure their getting an insane number of complaints but don't seem to care. I'm a huge Toyota person and they have always been a step behind with their tech but now seeing the new Tundra's console display is having huge issues with basic items that EVERY other car manufacturer worked out many, many years ago and this entire App issue I think it maybe time to forcefully retire some of those 100+ year old tech guru's and bring in some youth who may know what a cell phone is.

I had no issues with my iPhone 7 Plus phone. That was 5 years old. I was just getting that pop up but my app still opened up no problem. Just got my new iPhone 13 Pro max and set up the Bluetooth. No problems with anything connecting or remote app.
