If an American dollar purchases a Tundra sold in Canada, there is no change to the pricing nor is there any dealer markup (Toyota Canada forbids that except on the Supra).

There is your loop hole to a cheap 2022 Tundra. So if anyone is looking to buy a truck, if I were you, I would speak to a Canadian up here and see if you can save yourself some money.

Have you ever tried to export a Canadian vehicle to the US?

Not yet, I understand the process though. Living in Canada I would not need, I have only imported a vehicle into Canada from the USA.

I looked into it when I was shopping for a regular cab, used vehicles might be a little different than new, but it was going to be a big pita.

There’s also the fact all your mechanical gages will be metric. Though that’s really only the speedo on the lower trims

True but that big pain might be worth thousands of dollars, even 10+ grand in savings depending on the dealer markup.

    They actually display both measurements.

Absolutely, I was trying to save a couple of G's on a 12 yo truck, not 10's of thousands on a new ride.

Do the math, if you take a 56 to 58k SR5 TRD truck and pay for it with American dollars that works out to less than 46k USD.

The dollar conversion is where you save your money. Plus no dealer markup.

Yes. Just gotta spend all your time reading the little numbers. :)

I’m also curious to see if the Canadian Pro is based off the SR5 or the Limited (current Pros up north are still SR5). That gage cluster looks mechanical, but in the US I understand the Pro to have the fully digital cluster.

Then just get the limited TRD here in Canada, the savings aren't as big but still.

Limited TRD goes for $65,850 CDN works out to $52,000 USD. That's not terrible.

    True.
Currently not in the market for any of them. Very happy with my ‘21 and I have never owned a vehicle less than 10 years. Maybe when the Gen 4’s come out…

You don't see the 1000s of vehicles exported out of Alberta each week. Everyone IS doing this. Alberta is running out of supply of used and new vehicles. If you were to drive by any car lot in Alberta you would see that they are empty.

    https://www.autonews.com/used-cars/more-canadas-used-cars-are-flowing-us

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/drivin...wcm/f80643e6-ccdd-4c8a-bdff-40b846a3403a/amp/

The mainstream media won't talk about it but take these articles as evidence. It is happening because the of difference in the dollar value. There is huge savings for Americans and money to be made in Canada.

Well Alberta must be sending these vehicles to the same place America is sending all ours because all our lots are empty too. :notsure:

So if my math is right a base sr5 crewman 4x4 would be 42600, about 3k less than usa msrp.

Can a CA truck have warranty work done in the US? I'm not to far from the border may need to look into this

Pretty sure that Toyota has very strict policies on importing new vehicles across the border. As a Canadian, I looked into this way back in 2008 when our dollar was actually on par or slightly above the US. Dealerships in the US would not sell new vehicles to Canadians. Subaru on the other hand had no restrictions so I was able to pick up a new loaded Tribeca in Seattle for $20,000 less than what it would cost me in Canada. The only problem with Subaru was that any warranty work done in Canada had to be paid first and then you had to get reimbursement from Subaru of America. Not too much trouble considering the savings I got.

I can confirm that this has been happening since at least 2015. When I sold my 2013 F150, every single person interested in buying and in fact the person who did actually buy it was a wholesaler sending it straight down to the States. The Toyota sales guy I dealt with trying to find a used Tundra afterwards told me at the time that almost every Tundra, 4Runner and Sequoia in the years 2004 to 2013 was sold immediately sight unseen to a person who had a deal with the sales manager. That person was shipping them south of the line too.
