Me too. The Tundra is too rich for my blood but the cruiser is sooooo nice now.

Its kinda unfortunate trucks are where they are now. Manufacturers are not going to regress now

Buying a Toyota is an INVESTMENT. I just INVESTED in a nice Tundra. 2013 with only 20K miles for 34k. Im already WAY HEAD.

Ive ALWAYS come out WAY AHEAD buying a Toyota and its never cost me hardly anything to own one in repairs. Just don't drive the crap out of them and do good maintenance. They WILL last.

The only problems i've had with Tundras is my 2012. The bearings crumbled and i had to do 3 brake jobs in 1 year. That was the only problem other than my 2016 was weaker than a golf cart at the end of the day of numerous groups using it

Likewise, stepdad swears by ford. Always spending money on stupid repairs. Always getting towed.
Chevy was better. Toyota is best.

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
A few months ago I test drove a 2016 GMC Canyon with the Duramax. To my surprise its power and pull from the line felt similar to my Tundra. I am just concerned about GM's 6-speed transmission they have paired to it. The 6-speed has had many issues. I have heard the GM's 8-speed they paired to to the Gas Colorados is much better. I am just waiting on 2018 and seeing if they pair the 8-speed transmission to the Duramax. if they do that, then I will get rid of my old 4runner and have a new daily commuter. The 4wd Colorado gets 28MPG Highway. I believe it because I know someone with a 2wd who claims he regularly gets 31MPG on the highway!

I would actually rate GM's 4.3l V6 (all generations of it) at equal reliability to most Toyota Motors.

Just don't see the point of that video. Let's take the three most production off-road capable trucks with heavy all-terrain tires made and test them 0-60 on the road. While we are at it lets not even compare apples to apples, lets throw in one full size with 150 more horsepower than the other two.

I agree. There is a huge price point between all the tested vehicles. If the Raptor was left out, it would have been a better comparison.

Then again, another way to look at it, pretty impressive that these vehicles were pitted against the Raptor.

And yet another way to look at it, what other vehicle do you compare the Raptor to?

I'll admit it. That's a badass little truck. I'd drive it, and I'd drive the shit out of it. Looks fun.

Ive owned 3 Toyota 4x4's and 3 TACOMA'S. ALL MANUAL TRANS MISSIONS 1.25 MILLION MILES between them. Never even replaced a clutch. Had to get TOWED ONCE! Left front wheel bearing went at 85k on my last one, a 2006 this time last year. Only had ONE FAILURE of a part. AC blower motor on my 02 when it had only 12k miles on it which was under warranty. Other than these what I call minor issues, never had any other issues what so ever.

The point is to make money. Mfrs are attracted by slick production values and pay no attention to actual content (which in nearly all YouTube car testing videos is about -0-).

I like a lot of the features, haven't looked at pricing...that could be a real turnoff.

Personally, my Tacoma does pretty good as an all around truck. This is my third one, no complaints.

I've been looking at used ones. I'm not sure what years are the best. I like the V8 and lockers so, '99-'01? Seems like a nicely restored LC would be a sweet, plush ride.

gotta agree with the host on the seating in the taco. sat in one recently and hated it. if I were looking midsize I'd go Colorado gas.

I never had an issue with the seating in the Tacoma and actually liked the low seat stretched out position. But then most of my height 6'4 is in my legs so I didn't have an issue with head room. I also came from a '91 4Runner which was very similar in how it sat.

had an '01 Taco and don't remember feeling so low. might be just what I was used to at the time. Had a Honda Civic prior. This last one I climbed into was after 10 years of a first gen Tundra, a year of Suburban and 6 mos of 3rd gen Tundra.

Out of all of them, Im the most impressed with the Chevy. Locking front and rear diffs, diesel option, duratracs, impressive suspension and a carpet delete option. 45k is for the fully loaded diesel model. Expensive, but a pretty good bargain compared to what most guys are paying for the Taco Pro and about half as much as the Raptor when you add dealer markup. You could get a gasser for like 41K which still has over 300 hp and an eight speed.

Kudos to Ford for getting all that power out of an engine that is the same size as the Taco. I would be worried about longevity though. That thing must be running insane amounts of boost. Also the fake sound is a major turn off.

As for the Tacoma, hopefully they get their act together and fix the kinks out of the reliability issues they've been having, because reputation is the main thing that it has going for it. A stock TRD supercharger in the Pro and a locking front diff would set it apart IMHO.
