You have a great point - I see "no 401k" and automatically think "no retirement plan". So that's just flat out wrong on my part. Thanks for the correction.

Your assuming the truck does depreciate. The way inflation is going and if you have seen what used vehicles sell for now. In 10 years a truck I paid 60k for could very well be worth 70k. I personally doubt it but maybe. All investments are a gamble. Except my happiness, a new truck is a guaranteed good investment into my happiness. I’m doing fine on investments for retirement.

Truck I paid $47k for in July of 19 just sold for $51k with 45k miles and some hard use and wear and tear… truck made me happy for its ownership and is allowing me to get into a new platinum at the same time- win win

Best bet is to educate yourself. No cares as much about your $$ as you do. Leasing is just another option in one's financial toolbox.

An excellent site for leasing information, pros and cons is:

    www.leasehackr.com

I have leased, paid cash and financed vehicles. There is no one size fits all.

If the scenario you describes happens, we have bigger problems as an economy.

As far as I know, the monthly payment for a lease can vary based on factors like the selling price, lease terms, and any incentives or discounts you negotiate.
