Anyone have a ceramic paint coating?? Haven't herd of this before until a coworker mentioned it to me.

Did some research and it seems to good to be all it's talk up to be...

Any thoughts? Pros vs Cons? Horror stories??

I do. I've paid to have it done, and recently did a car myself. I hope to have all our cars done by the end of the year.

For me, as someone who washes his own cars and does 1-2 cars every weekend, i am so far very very happy. I only have it on the two garaged cars right now, but it makes clean up so simple.

I have Ceramic Pro on my '55. I literally just have to hose the thing off and all the dirt, etc is gone...and the water has all sheeted off as well. I probably will wash this thing maybe 1-2x's a year now (where I was doing it once a month before).

I put cquartz on my '01 911. I used their UK formula which is a consumer product that's not as effective as their professional products. But it still works great. it is a LONG process though. I put about 4 hours into polishing the car ahead of time, and then did two layers of the coating. I've got some high spots I need to address, since the car is silver it was hard to see it being applied. But overall, i'm very very happy. The car washes so easily.

With that said, I'll give some background on myself. My therapy is washing my cars...it's my zen moment away from the wife and kids. Been washing my cars weekly since I was 16. I ran a mobile detailing business to get myself through college and have tried thousands of products. Now, I have more money then sense, so my car washing process is pretty intense. I use a pressure washer, foam cannon, and then have an RO/DI CRSpotless system to rinse...then go through with a dedicated leaf blower to get water out of gaps, etc. This ceramic stuff is new to me, but I think i'm hooked. I'm curious to see how it really holds up.
