Thanks, went with these since we need 7 of them to cover the whole HVAC panel and I've got 3 or 4 that are dead as it is anyway

If you find ones that match the instrument cluster green please let me know! I'm all about matching. But I was disappointed with the ones I tried. Either too dark green or lime green. I actually really like the OG instrument cluster green on my '06. The 6500k white that I have in there now matches the rest of my interior bulbs, so it isn't so bad.

I think I found a color-matched camper shell used! Put a deposit on it and hopefully will be picking it up next week. Really puts the pressure to do my leaf springs now.

Yeah, I figure it's cheap to try out colors and maybe get side-by-side camera shots. Maybe we get lucky or something? Who knows. Worth a try b/c it's quick and easy. I'll try to figure out which wire is parking lights on the bezel.

I just carefully removed the green silicone covers off the original bulbs to put them on the white LEDs I installed.

You can also purchase them here.

Went out with the local 4runner cats. Super easy trail, but some fun spots from recent rain fall and erosion. Also lots of overgrowth from said rains, so it was lots of pin stripes. But what do I care?! I either touched my slider on something or one of the bushes peeled out a nice chuck of Berliner off my slider near the front tire. Also, these trucks pull like mules in 4hi in the sand, I had so much fun zipping thru tight wash corridors. Hi clearance bumper was pretty clutch thru some of the gullys and washes.
About 20 rigs in the convoy so the trail took a while, but I had fun! The red 4runner behind me didn’t take any of the fun lines i did.

Definitely still considering this plan. Just kind of prefer to not wrap my bulbs if it’s possible to avoid. I’ll see what I think of the limey green. The OEM is a tiny bit muted, I wouldn’t mind some extra hot sauce to spice it up.

And I know I’m overthinking this but I’m wondering how close the color is when adding a filter to LED vs halogen. Because most LED’s would be 5000-6000k and not full spectrum like a halogen so filtered output might look a bit different? Hard for me to speculate without seeing it side by side. I’m definitely curious and will try it all out down the line.

Thanks so much to everyone for all the great ideas and suggestions.

I’ll try and get some pictures tonight of the green LEDs I used cause I think they match my cluster well and my JVC radio matches the green too so it’s all very cohesive to me.

edit: took a picture now since the garage was fairly dark. Gotta change the far right knob bulb since it’s flickering out.

    45F78507-21EB-4D03-9DB6-9F7415E348AB.jpg

I have some spares but can’t remember which of the 3 different bulbs I ordered that I actually used and liked. I’ll try to get to replacement them this afternoon when I’m done watching the F1 race.

Ok, I went and changed the one bad bulb. Looks like the wire broke off somehow and was barely making contact. Gotta make sure these are installed the right way cause if they don’t work you just gotta flip them 180degrees.
Here’s the link if anyone is interested.

Giving the V6 an Italian tune up on the parkway. Based on pop's fuel mileage (13.7 mpg), it doesn't need it, but damn it's good to be home!

Haven’t yet. It sits in there pretty well and won’t go anywhere. If it annoys me or if there are issues, I’ll probably use Velcro or something similar.

Attached picture of white LEDs with green silicone compared to halogen with green silicone. The picture makes the dash lights look more yellow. In person they have more of a green tint. I have not changed my main dash to LEDs yet.

Just about finished with this DIY 270 awning I built. Instructions came from a great Youtube, Instagram guy: Overland Underbudget. Check out his recent flatbed camper build. Its incredible!

Anyways, just waiting for the ARB awning bag to be shipped, everything is on back order right now. But Im leaving for a week camping trip at the end of this week so should be able to still get some use out of this thing out there.

@shifty` Yea it came with the truck, its a Snugtop. Unfortunately the windows dont slide open, just the smaller ones in the front pop out a bit kinda like the access cab rear windows.

Pops just called. He's had a blow out in the V6. Guess you shouldn't use a 20 year old spare tire.

Tried cracking the top nut on the rear shocks the other day with a breaker bar. No go. Will continue to spray with penetrant for the remainder of the week and retry.

Would like to avoid having to use a Diablo thick metal cutting blade unless I have to do so. Looks like I need a 12" instead of the 9" I already had. (That's what she said)

Found pops. No u-turn before road work started. I may not have working 4WD, but I do have momentum.

Made my own u-turn in the grass. A careful half send.

Like a Nascar pit crew we had that truck Jacked up, and tire changed in about 2.5. Semi trucks blowing by at 90mph. Butt hole clenched every time.

Mine is staying until I buy different sized tires than 265/70/16s. Might need a new rim too.
