Since getting my winch about six months or so ago I've been struggling to find a hook solution that works for me. I don't have the money for a factor 55 ultra hook and I normally find myself either recovering other vehicles or recovering with a vehicles as the winch point so I use D rings a lot. I've been looking at something like the Warn Epic sidewinder and or Hyperlink. If any of you have had experience with either of these or know of some similar alternatives I'd love to know!

Would you say Its better than using a hook. Because rn I have the super jank version of these. aka just a d ring through the end loop which is not good.

I guess it would depend on how big the hook is and if it has a guard to prevent things from slipping off. If you've ever watched Matt's Offroad Recovery on YT (which is a great resource for learning how to do all types of recoveries), they use a large ass hook.

I like closed loop system better than hooks. I havent been in a situation that a hook would be better than soft shackles, d rings and flat link yet.

That is what I have been thinking. And I like the idea of having the connecting pin directly coming off the end of the winch the that way un like the factor one it would't need a flat link in addition to the hook.
