Got a text from the Wife, telling me I had to come meet the Doppleganger in the parking lot. So I told my boss, I had to "run an errand", 20 minutes later, I pulled up, right as they were leaving, r/missedconnections :(.

They are both 2.5 Gen Black 1794 Editions, with very very similar sliders.

Well last week I left one of my MTBs in front of the truck and forgot about it. Later I started the truck moving forward and squished over it. I could not see it. OMG, I destroyed front section of the MTB, wheel, fork and handle bar are destroyed. It looked like the frame was ok. My bad... It is 26 inch MTB. 26 inch forks are hard to find these days. This morning finally I could re-assemble with the leftover parts and new fork. I will never park the bikes near the truck ever LOL.

Used up some remaining vacation days and finally got my lift installed that I purchased during Black Friday 2020:anonymous:

Bilstein 6112 on top clip 2.5” + one shim on the driver side + Camburg UCA
Bilstein 5100 + Toytec shackles on top setting.
    Camburg diff drop kit
    Camburg carrier bering spacer
    Front TRD Sway Bar
Readylift 67-5008 Sway Bar Drop Bracket (Amazon)
Readylift 67-5443 TRD Pro Skid Plate Adapter Kit (Amazon)

I have a strut compressor so I decided to build them myself. But… the PowerBuilt brand POS developed a stress crack so I went slightly overboard and acquired a used once Branick 7400 off Craigslist to be on the “safe side”. Check out its size in comparison to the truck strut ;).
(Soon to be back for sale)

    1614A418-331D-4942-B0C1-972973DC6889.jpg

I went with the ball joint version of the Camburg UCA due to uniball corrosion concerns. NJ DOT uses Rock Salt, Calcium Chloride and Brine any time there is a remote hint of snow flakes.

    A4C7607A-063F-488D-9844-273BB5137EB4.jpg

Installed 5100’s in the rear and will be installing air bags as next project.

    802B404E-1DDF-48E5-9452-F145062A6D1C.jpg

Toytec shackles and I had hoped to use the 1” hole so that I was level. That did not work due to some bolts on my truck version as mentioned on Toytec website. So the 1.5” hole gives me a sight rake. Some pics to see the issue and yes I had to uninstall and reinstall.

One important note for anyone doing this job is that you should buy the optional poly bushings. The Toyota factory bushing in the leaf spring is knurled on the ends to grab the factory shackle. It would tear up the shackle at the joint leaving bare metal and it did not fit physically fit into the Toytec shackle. The factory bushings are press fit in and getting them out can suck. I soaked them overnight with PB blaster and then used a ball joint press I have from harbor freight that’s about $70 or Autozone tool loaner would work. I have seen people burn these out creating a rubber fire mess and you still have to chisel out the metal collar. This method was super simple and no mess. Worked just like this YouTube video (no relation to me). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbwT5DEYe6E

Got dark and forgot to take a truck pic. I am still running Michelin stockers and may do so till tire prices get more reasonable. Was thinking to go with the Falken Wildpeak 285/75/18.

Bilstein 5100 front level on the middle setting. Even more than the level, I am SO impressed with how these shocks ride!! It took all the slop out of the front end and feels dare I say sporty while remaining comfortable. I was very apprehensive about the total cost of $650-700 but with how much better it rides I can't recommend it enough.

Purchased the shocks from Bilsteinlifts free shipping no tax and had LoneStar 4X4 in Gainsville TX do the install + alignment. Big shout out to them, friendly family / veteran owned business and I've never had a steering wheel so perfectly centered (I'm OCD). Everything feels amazing I'm on cloud 9 surprised by this mod.

Edit: Love how easy it was to adjust my lights. I put painters tape on the garage door before the lift then adjusted the knob inside the cab after and both fog light knobs behind the bumper to lower them down to my marks. Like a 5 minute job.

Wired up the S8 today. Had been waiting on posi taps and posi locks. Tapped the backlight into the raptor lights so it runs at all times and wired the main light to an OEM style switch in place of one of the blanks.

I had zero electrical experience outside of simple plug and play stuff, so this felt like an accomplishment.

For Veterans Day, I treated the Bifmobile and the wife's 4Runner to a bath and detailing. We have a guy in town that does it for $40. Unfortunately, they already look kinda dirty again. The trees around here seem to drop dirt 9 months out of the year.

Curious how difficult the install was? Was there any cutting, drilling, dremeling, wire re-routing, etc?

I did this with a different round two gang usb. I had to use a step bit to enlarge the opening. The wiring is super easy, guessing most of these products are similar in that way. It took me all of 30 minutes and 10 of that was babying the trim removal.

You more than likely will start getting a squeak from the shackle making contact with the bed bolt.

Hey Sid you may want to put some trim piece on the part the wraps around the 3rd member because it’ll rattle. The metal to metal contact rattle bugged the shit out of me.
