Has anyone had or heard both 8 and 10 with resonator on? Put resonator on my 8 and its much better but still theres a a bit more deep noise in cabin than i prefer. Mainly on roads with slight inclines or part throttle crusin thro town (1100-1200 rpm). Curious how quieter the longer muffler (10-14) would be in these scenarios as im definitelt contemplating swapping to somwthing different sizewise

I just traded Keith my 10" system for his 14",both with resonator. After having the 10" for several years, my hearing loss was making conversations difficult while pulling hills, especially towing. Add that to the fact that I'm getting old and grouchy, the 10" was getting intrusive. While the 14" system will NEVER be mistaken for "stock", either at idle, cruising or most certainly at higher RPM's, it's more subdued with no raspy "bark" at cold-start. Trading my 5-6 year old system back to Keith for a $ 220.00 total (for shipping) was a no brainer, especially when Keith and Shawna are so great to deal with!

Absolutely! Like I said, no matter where the RPM's are, my 14" system won't be mistaken for stock, you'd have to be a heck of a lot more deaf than I am to not hear that. I lost the 'love' for the raspy bark at cold start. The interference in conversations, because of my nerve damaged hearing is another reason it had to be 'toned down.'

Yeah id love to hear a clip if u dont mind. Actually the resonator tamed the loud cold start alot. Its just that deep hum at times thats a bit too much for me

Doesn't look like I'm able to send video, "The uploaded file does not have the allowed extension." What am I doing wrong?

I think you have to post it on YouTube and then copy the YouTube link into your reply here.

My wife had to do the YouTube part for me because I didn’t have an account.

I just ordered the 8". Hopefully its not too loud. Website side 8" was mild, and 10" was quite?

from the way keith explained it, they arent all that different from each other, more same than different, you really only notice the differences when you get on it.

You guys should specify if you are on the dual systems that replace the TRD exhaust or the singles as well. The single pipe 10" is what is usually recommended for towing and such because it isn't as intrusive when under load, but the 10" on the duals is still loud, IIRC. To get the duals quieter you have to get into 12"+ but that would be really quiet on a single.

I wouldnt call it loud whatsoever. It sounds incredible. My only dislike is some of the resonance u get in cab while at certain rpms or inclines

Did you drill the hole for the resonator? It makes the drone go away. There’s a little sound still, but not drone. Also, did you cut the tailpipe by chance?

have two tabs open: one will be your YouTube and the other will be tundras.com where you’re trying to post the reply or post the link. Open up the video in YouTube and at the very top where you have the URL which is just the address for your YouTube video you can right click on that and then click on copyThen click on the tundras tab go to the reply area right click again and hit paste that should put the link there and then you can just post reply

If the exhaust turns real quiet at around 65 mph and up in 6th gear while maintaining speed with little to no load - then you did it right. Below that speed, you'll still hear some exhaust tone - which isn't necessarily drone.

Oh yea pretty quiet at that speed. I can hear the exhaust but not too obtrusive. It just gets noisier than i like when theres any incline in the road and at some lower rpms in city driving

Sounds like you installed the resonator correctly and it’s doing its job. You may prefer longer canisters to lower the overall sound.

Keith I'm curious how much sound will i lose or possible performance installing the resonator? I currently have the 10 inch, and after a road trip over the mountain pass this last weekend I'm debating installing my resonator just don't want to lose performance but would like less drone. Thanks

You won’t lose any performance at all. Just the drone. That’s it. Install it!!!

None from outside the truck. But inside will be tamed a bit on the throttle. But more importantly, cruising is way quieter.
