To flare or not to flare?

So I purchased my Pro with the flares already on. I read a couple of posts on here about installing the flares and making sure to use some type of paint protection film to keep from wearing the paint off. I removed my flares today to see the condition underneath and like the way it looks without. I know in the end it is my decision ultimately but what does everyone think?

Definitely a personal decision, but I’ve never been a fan of them. Just my personal opinion of course.

Easy answer for me was to say never have them but your color matched ones look fantastic. For me it comes down to wheel poke. If the wheels/tires are level with the flares on then it looks professional and therefore good. If the wheels/tires stick in a bit then it looks stupid.

I prefer no fender flares, but to each their own. If you like them, rock them!

Fiberglass fenders is another story though!

For me it would depend on your intended use of the truck.

I put aftermarket wheels on that added a bit of poke to the tires, and I have some chips in the paint on my wheel wells and even got one on my door. My only concern is rust, and the flares could take the hits instead of my truck. Living down a mile of crappy dirt and gravel means that every trip my truck makes has two miles of rocks being flung up. Were I in your position I would get black bolts for the flares or get non rivet style and I'd run them to protect my truck. If you don't go anywhere to throw rocks, I'd take them off.

Looks more aggressive with them. I have them on mine and they are Line-X'ed. If you do reinstall them, apply PPF to prevent paint rub.

For what it’s worth, I like it without flares. Kind of like the badges or decals, some like them and some don’t.

In the end, go with your taste.

That's why I took them off to see if original owner had applied any and if not how bad the damage was/is.

I like without with a little poke with the tires. I plan on changing my wheels down the road for a more aggressive offset to give tire poke without using spacers. I had about inch poke on my 4runner pro running 285’s and no issues with paint chips.

The VooDoo Blue Pro looks great with and without, IMO. I say “not to flare” and you can always go back when you get tired of that look!

I appreciate everyone's input. I think I prefer no flares however after removing them and having a professional look at the damage that had started on the paint due to a lack of protection film I think I will be putting them back on. I do have film and black bolts coming in next week. If the truck didn't have flawless paint everywhere else(for now) I would just run without. Thanks again.

I vote no flairs. But that's just my opinion. I still have stock BBS wheels and no poke to need them either though. What's the offset of your wheels? Do you mind having debris thrown up the sides of your truck? If no, no flairs. If yes, throw the flairs back on.

And best color pro out there!

I think the no flares have it.
I had flares on for a couple years then I smashed the shit out of one of them. Took them all off and wondered why I even had them on.

Flares if you want to protect your paint a little if you drive off road or thru any kind of rough terrain.

I like the way it looks with flares. Looks beefy. Wondering what brand is that flare looks like rough country.

I just got my 21 pro white. Debating myself on the flares as well. It costs a lot. Bushwacker plus match up paint total costs like 1300 bucks CAD.

On my taco pro white it comes with factory black flares so all I did is 1.25 spacer and it does look better with wheels poke out just pass the flares.

I will try the spacer on tundra first and see how it looks. Then I ll decide on the flares. I was told just apply 3m on the flare area and go without flares.

If anyone has done that I wonder.

Just put my long johns on they are simple easy serving the purpose and I love it. Having it 1*1.25 inch out driving back on dirty Alberta highways zero splash on the body.
